Well I finally closed on the acreage I have been working on buying for the last 4+ months. NW Iowa gained another resident but I am only in Iowa by 3/4 of a mile. Its 16.5 acres which works good for having my cattle and sheep. Here is the only picture I have of it so far but I could post more later.

It isnt too bad just need the big door replaced and some time the foundation in the front needs to be replaced. It has 3 lean-2's on it so it is pretty good sized.

Don't worry about how big the barn is--junk expands to fill the allotted space. Looks like a good set-up, I'm sure you'll love it there.

Congratulations! Place looks like it has possibilities. Buildings don't look too bad and the house doesn't look to be very old. If I have to sink money into a place, I would much rather be paying on something that would someday be mine rather than making someone else's payment.

Congrats on the new digs, looks like a nice place!
You say it needs a little work, but doing that work
seems to make it "home" to me.
Best of luck!

You have a nice place to work for now. Glad you got it. You will be much happier having your own place to work with.

Looks real nice. Good to hear that you got it . The shelter belt or wind break looks pretty good to. clint

Thanks everybody. The house is actually only 1 year old so I dont think I did too bad for a 23 year old. There is also 5 grain bins 2 silos a hoop barn and some older hog buildings. The shelter belt is in pretty good shape but needs lots of clean up since the big ice and snow storm last week that paralized this area. I am only moving 5 miles from where I live now so it isnt too far to move all my equipment.
All the work has been put on hold as we got 6+ inches of snow again yesterday, I am thankful for the moisture but winter just wont let up here in NW Iowa and SW MN

23 years old and 16.5 acres... you are doing great. Congratulations, you have a great place there.

Rick

Looks like a heck of a nice start you have there. Congratulations on the purchase. Would love to have the out-buildings you have there.

Reminds me of years ago along highway 59 south out of Worthington just into Iowa on the east side of the road there was a sign that said "OLEO ACRES, one of the cheaper spreads" Good luck on your "spread" Dale.

Congratulations. Welcome to northwest Iowa where it snows in late April. Oh, that's right, you're from Minnesota. Never mind. Jim
