What repair project to you have in your shop?

finishing pitting the pto clutch & hi-lo clutch in the 2755. Finishing the m motor swap. Getting the floor cleared out so more projects can come in. outside the mulch finisher, saddle tanks on 8410, two trucks not starting well, cultimulcher bearings and pick-up brakes. want to start planting corn in 10 days and no ground worked and still raining.

Just got my mechanical wagon hoist home and unloaded. Dumped derusting solution over every (rusted) moving part today.

This 601 had a bad motor and a 4 speed. We put in a good motor and a live pto 5 speed.

Gotta pull the rear transmission out of this Power King and replace the bearings.Have too unbolt the engine unbolt the tube from rear transmission slide forward then R&R transmission. At least it's not so heavy a 70 year old can't lift it. I do have to use a lift on the engine and front tranny.

Pictures of the 1943 Case SC rebuild last yr. Had to switch engines and replace about everything in the rear end. It is drivable in the last pic, but far from finished. It turned out to be a major project but it was worth it. I was with my granddad when he bought it in 1944.clint

Yes the letter series cases were chain drive and the 5,6,900, and the 930 western 6 speeds. they also have a wet clutch and are virtually indestructable from the engine back.

jon f mn is correct about the chain drives, except the V & VAC series did not have chain drives. All John Deere "D" s were chain drive too.clint

Hey John.

I don't have anything as exciting as the other posters.

Just an old trailer that needed a repair job on one corner and a new tongue jack.

My jobs are not tractor but for horse pulled equipment and I will never be able to get them all done. At least 11 steel wheel hay rakes, 7 steel wheel manure spreaders, 2 490 John Deere corn planters, 1 450 Deere Planter, 4 Deere 290 planters, McCormick 449 planter, 3 possibly 6 disk harrows, 3 cultimulchers, spike tooth harrows, 2 spring tooth harrows, A Case 2 bottom steel wheel clutch lift plow, steel wheel mower, 2 grain drills, some trailers to haul the machinery on plus other items I cannot think of now. And it seams more showing up every day. If they are not already repair jobs for the owner then all will have an Amish buyer when they are done. Think a 69 year old that had heart problems can ever get them all done? The spreaders are some only a part of the frame only to start rebuilding.

No tractors in the shop right now. The space is taken up by the old chicken coop I'm rebuilding. Gonna have it done in a couple of days. Then the Mogul and the Regular go back in. Regular just needs to have the mag thrown back on (hopefully that's all) but the Mogul needs some work. Jim

Set of 2 row cultivators for the '50 "B". Rear is done, front next. Hope to have it all done and re-assembled and mounted in time for the Mackinac Bridge crossing this Sept. Other projects just seem to get in the way. Need to change my priorities a little , or should say the wife needs to, lol.

No pictures from me, but here goes.
I have to tear down Dad's 025 chainsaw because of a scored piston and cylinder.
Our 1855 needs the radiator pulled out to be recored.
I made up some new uprights that hold the sections of our spike drag up in transport, just gotta paint them.
At some point in the next 10 years I need to fix the ORC on the spare jackshaft for our NI 290 haybine.
Take 4 knives out of the 892 chopper, and respace them so they're equal distances apart with 8 instead of 12.
Go over the feild cultivators, see what we need, how many springs, spare shanks, etc...
Fix the spring tooth harrow on the back of one of our less used cultivators.
Fix the hydraulics on our loader.
Put a tube in the tire of the lawn cart.
Put back together the Electric running gear I've had torn apart for 5+ years.

That's the short list...

I've also got the Ace sprayer pump torn apart from our nieghbors sprayer, and gotta order parts for that too.
