that is a little more than an acre, grown to sell at the farm stand all summer and fall. Yukon Gold, French Fingerling (red skin) and a purple-fleshed variety whose name I don't know. But it makes really neat looking chips!

Not sure exactly what the seed weighed, but it should have been somewhere around 1.5 ton.

I have grown Yukon Gold, they are great for mashed potatoes or jackets as they hardly need any butter they are so flavoursome. A friend of mine grew Russet Burbank for McCains . However this year they gave me a bag of a variety called 'Markies' to try ( maybe unknown on the other side of the pond? ) and truly they made the best french fries I have ever tasted.
