Just had a pop-up come up saying that Annette Funicello is dead at 70.
Lots of guys discovered female attraction when she started to develop on the Mickey Mouse Club for sure.

Add Margaret Thatcher to the list too......

Didn't think Annette was that old. Margaret - now she was ancient!

remember watching [m-m club] her at noon time while eating lunch, then watching all the beach movies she was in,, lucky frankie having to make movies with her...

She made a movie in the 1980s that was a spoof of the original beach movies. Frankie Avalon was in it and she even gave the kid a peanut butter sandwich also spoofing her peanut butter ads. She was a great tv and movie personality. She said she noticed the onset of the MS on a movie set when she started to walk funny. Sad news.

She was pretty much the "star" of the Mousekateers- one of the oldest, prettiest, and most talented of the bunch- and it didn't hurt that she was Walt Disney's favorite. Made a lot of movies, and through all her health problems, was always very gracious. I remember Frankie Avalon saying what a pleasure she was to work with in the movies, and they remained friends after she retired.

RIP, Annette.

One of the quotes Ms. Thatcher made that I always remember is "The problem with socialism is you eventually run out of other people's money". A great quote from a great woman and statesman.
Very saddened to her about Annette also. Both very talented individuals.

Grew up watching Annette grow up. Maybe we're all getting old. She was only five years older than I am. Makes you pause....
