The first picture is of the oldest barn in the village, as far as the owner can trace, it is 420 years old, been in use all that time.
The second picture is of the old farmhouse at the end of our garden. The building on the right is the cowshed and milking parlour, now quite a nice home.
Picture 3 is a front door and porch, including the mounting block to assist in getting on your horse.
Next one is a view over the river valley. I cannot get up high enough in our flat landscape to show the pattern of fields and hedgerows.
The power idustry is a major employer in the area. We have numerous power stations, as we are on top of a major coal field.
In the days before electricity, this was the mill. It is still in use, grinding flour for breadmaking for the people who have the time.
