Hi anyone using this plan? It is sold by wally world for $45 per month. Any thing good or bad?

I have had a straight talk phone for 2 years now, had other prepay phones but this one has the best coverage in my area, they also have good coupons for additional minutes, the last time I recharged the phone I used a coupon and got 1400 minutes and one year to use it . All the other phones I tried required you to use all your minutes in one month or lose them.

i have never tried it but a friend of mine tried it an it was nothing but i pain the arss. had nothing but trouble. didnt even make it a month, after 2 months getting it set up. good luck trying it

Me and my wife has it and like the service. We use the $30 card and don't use half that alot cheaper than verizon our bill was $120 a month for two phones alot more economicly for us to have this.I have heard that it goes throgh AT&T towers, but don't know that for sure.

I've got two phones on it. I like very well.

Straight talk is not much more than a payment plan.

I brought both phones home at different times. I ported our existing number over to the new phone and that was that.

You need to get with a sales person at Wal-Mart that knows a bit about them because they sell phones that use different companies towers. I needed ATT for coverage here in the sticks. They also have Sprint (I think) so it'll be best to know which system you'd like.

It's certainly as good as I was getting with my Sprint, Verizon, and other contracts. It's less than half the price and like Sprint, it really is unlimited data.

On a scale of one to ten, I'll give it a 10 after a years experience.

I"ve had them for 3 years. I think there great. I have a smart phone. Mine is powered by verizon. Get the person in Walmart to show you what phone is powered by who. Don"t know what would work best for you.

I've had a Straight Talk phone for about a year now. It's a smartphone with the $45 per month unlimited everything plan. I've been very happy with it and its in my opinion the best deal going in phones. Mine uses AT&T towers.

Had them for over a year and very pleased. Got the $30 plan and it's all I need. For that initial $30 even got a refurbished phone that was just like new. Try it out. No contracts so you can cancel after 30 days.

I use Tracfone and for me it is the cheapest way to go. Also the minutes never expire as long as you still have airtime left.

Wife and I just switched in late February. AT&T was $83-$89 a month for 850 shared minutes PLUS 20 cents a text...now paying $66.22 a month for 1000 minutes on EACH phone plus 1000 included text messages.

Wife and I never texted much before, but we're learning to now. Bought two refurbished slider phones with the QWERTY keyboards, and we're pretty happy with the service. I understand that in this area, Straight Talk goes thru T-Moblie...which uses AT&T towers...so we haven't lost any service or quality. Your mileage may vary.

Straight talk is a joint deal with Tracphone and Wally-mart. Whose towers they use depends on where you are, around here it's Verizon. I use the $45 plan, when I can I'll get a 6 month card, it's nice not having to load it every month. I've got the Samsung with the keys on front and it slides open for the keyboard, and I am surprised it has run nearly two years pretty much trouble-free.

The screen is having troubles (thrown one too many times) but I can still read it, so I keep using it, because our local store only has the ones with a touch-screen on front. Verizon's pre-paid plan is another $5 a month, and I might switch to them because they have a similar phone to mine.

The boss is on Viero, and looked into company phones for me and the other guy, and even with I think 5 or 6 phones on his plan, it still would have cost me another $15 a month, plus I would have no signal at home.

Oh, and you will NOT find me going back to a major carrier anytime soon. These people can be a pain at times, but I figure with what I am saving versus what I was paying with Sprint, I can buy a new phone every 6 months and be money ahead.

I have no complaints. Best part is, I'm not locked into a contract and if my time runs out with left over minutes, I don't lose the minutes when I add more time. If I run out of minutes first, the new card will add both minutes and service time.

Oops. I just realized I have tracphone-not straighttalk. I had a straighttalk phone for a while. It was good, but I hate paying $45 for as little as I use my phone.

I've had Tracfone for about 10 years now. Meanwhile my kids have gone through every company there is, contracts, $150.00 phones, etc. IMO, pretty much all of the phone companies and their plans are a giant rip off. I suppose if you can't breathe without a phone up to your ear or if you enjoy walking into a light pole because you're so busy texting, then maybe a plan works. Otherwise, my $9.00 Tracfone and buying 60 minutes (I get double minutes for life) every other month or so for $35.00 dollars or less makes sense to me. I did have to order my phone from Tracfone. Out local Walmart only carries "G" phones which, IIRC, are ATT phones. I had to get a "C" phone (again, if I recall correctly) that works off ATT towers.

Bret, I'm sure your phone does exactly what you want at a price you're comfortable with. That's fine if you're going to take or make an occasional call.
The new generation of phones really are a computer that happens to have a phone in them. I use mine way more than I use my desktop for business anymore. I drive truck, customers and other drivers don't want to wait 'til I get home to get documents from me, I'm also the zoning and code officer for our tiny Borough and I'm able to actually conduct a lot more business during business hours thanks to my smart phone. These phones take a lot more resources to operate that can only be provided by your carrier. In the event that a limited plan does not provide me with enough data minutes, I'm going to pay out the ying yang to buy additional minutes.
Plans make a lot of sense for the right reasons, and finding the cheapest plan that covers your need is apparently something your kids haven't decided to pursue yet.

Ron, if it works for you, fine. I want a phone, not a computer. The only texts I get are from salesmen, so I waste half a minute of time reading about an offer I have no interest in. I don't spend 15 minutes on the phone discussing nothing with people. I use a phone as a phone. Crazy, eh?

Last year we had a trucker wipe out 5 people in a construction zone. He had half a mile of straight road to slow in, never even dropped his speed. I don't believe they ever proved anything, but I'll bet he was either reading his Datacom or texting.

You know, before on board tattle tales and cell phones, we just blamed those accidents on the drivers being pilled up or falling asleep from being out of pills.

Nothing's changed except the reasons.
