I keep hearing about the Homer City auction. I hear it's a good one. I've never been there.
I actually live close to the WV boarder about 30 miles west of Pittsburgh, but, when my buddy went to wyotech I drove him back and forth to his place. There was a small trailer court just below New Florence and he and another guy got rent for $250 a month. I think it was a left turn onto Shannon creek road out of town from 711. Real small place, but everyone was real nice to me. Most of those small trailer courts around me aren't "nice people." Seemed like a great place.
There was a guy near town who had a Farmall C or super C and I saw him twice at the unimart putting gas in it. I didn't talk to him but I wanted to.
I was really amazed at how good the town was. It seemed everyone just kept to themselves, no one was worried about what the neighbor was doing. It's not like that where I live. Everyone wants to call a special town meeting if you plant a shrub. They think they are the law!
They did a nice job on that bridge. It was real smooth and big compared to the roads that lead to it. Once you leave route 22, it's like a trip through the woods until you hit that bridge. I think I came in on 2011 to town. They built up route 22 so much in the past 15 years, it's almost unrecognizable. Blairsville is like a major city now. My brother is in the local 66 operating engineers union. They are out of New Alex. I used to go up there a lot when I worked for Three Rivers equipment.
If I'm out that way, I'll gladly buy you lunch if you show me that sweet Farmall M. She sure is pretty!
Thanks for posting the pictures. I love seeing those old girls getting some time pulling ground. Too many people just pull in a parade. You actually pulled some earth. So glad to see them do well in this slop of a spring we have.
