Muddy season

I am in Eastern Iowa, it seems like it does not get warm enough to get frost out and dry up, nor cold enough to be frozen, it is just muddy.

The problem is that we are getting rain, then cold so it is not penetrating the frost. We are bone dry below the frost.

Frost went out of my driveway last night in central Iowa. Driveway is a lot firmer today, and the water went down..

My sump pump was running earlier in the week during a rain so it's starting to come out. We've still got lots of snow tho, and we got more overnight. Weather man says 6-8" possibly on Monday...

Remember last March? I was busy disking, plowing, and planting by this time. Was having issues with overheating on two tractors while plowing. This year the ground is still frozen, and there are ponds of frozen water standing in the low spots in the fields... I'm chomping at the bit to get going before the first week in April, so I can concentrate on sheep shearing that week. (School is out, and the shearer is a coming!)
