Last fall my wife and I went down below Carbondale Illinois to Giant City Lodge to have lunch one Sunday. After my foot surgery I needed to get out of the house for a while. On Sunday's they only have all you can eat fried chicken, mashed potatoes n' gravy, chicken n' dumplings, apple sauce, slaw etc. Very good place to eat. Let alone all the great scenery on the way there.

Red, you'd need half a dozen hired hands just to keep the place CLEAN & DUSTED.

I see the infamous boot cast, I was healing up well, and the doctor still had me get one of these, darned things are expensive, and I actually did not even need it.

That is a nice warm cozy place, love the catwalk and open ceiling and all the stone work, reminds me of a huge and very ornate barn that was turned in a restaurant north of me in Saratoga NY.

Hopefully when you go back on the year anniversary of the surgery, your foot is 100% or close, I know a year and 2 months out now from mine, my foot, and especially my leg feels so much better, that darned fuel line looking benign mass he took out, was raveled up with the nerves, and was driving me nuts, was eliminated, and did not come back, just one slight calcification bump or I suspect on one side of where that mass was attached or began which he had to carefully get to the roots of it so it would not come back.
