Are there no rules against a clown posting 22 individual ads for parts all from one tractor in the same day ? MAYBE it"s something in the water down there ? Took up lots of space others may have put to better legitimate use.....Just my thoughts, anyone else have a like point of view ? Thanks.

I would think a listing of such should be in the dealer categorie or they should have their own e-commerce web site.

yep makes no sense to me either when they itemize small slow moving stuff that they want a fortune for! just bundle the stuff in one add.
just like i have seen engine's dissassembled and then each thing advertized separate. thats the ones that have no clue either.

Not exactly sure what adds you are posting about. Saw a lot from AZ, on Photo adds and clasified, but they wern't from just one tractor. and prices didn't seem out of line. Although you don't have an intrest in his "stuff", there are many on here with diverse intrests and perhaps one of his items is just what someone else wants.
Take your Rant to Site Comments and let Chris and Kim decide if his adds are appropriate. 22, isn't a lot considering that there are 1600 plus on there.

If i"m looking at the culprits ads in the photos ads section he"s right were he"s suppose to be.People complain when tractors and farm equipment with good used parts are sent to the scrapper. In my opinion he"s making things available for the restoration market. This website has a large following 20 listing is a drop in the bucket.

I have been known to post more than 10 ads at a time from one tractor. I don't see anything that says you shouldn't, and I don't mind scrolling past other's ads if they are not something in which I am interested.

Don"t take much to get people riled anymore. Just exactly how is he taking up a lot of space? Is it a time cosuming task to spin the little wheel to scroll past what you don"t want to look at? If you don"t want to look at for sale ads, don"t look at the for sale ads site. Rather simple really.

Just be happy they're posting it in the right place. Alot better than people posting it on the forums. If you're not interested, scroll past it.

If that's the worst thing that happens to you today, you have very, very little to be worried about. Scroll past or go stick your truck up to the door frames in a mud hole someplace. The you'll have something else to worry about.

i dont know but i thought it was ok, hes obviously parting out a tractor,me if i need one particular piece for one of mine it is nice to see that 1 piece listed, saves calling the guy and finding out that the parts tractor doesnt have the piece im looking for

It doesn't tick me off here, but it sure does on Craig's list! Instead of listing every item individually, why not put part list inside as the title of the post!

There's no limit on photo ads. It's not like he's causing someone else's ads to be deleted by posting too many.

Most Wal Mart stores have a blood pressure machine near the pharmacy and it"s FREE to use! You may want to consider trying it out, could by the problem.

It dont bother you [i:be2fa9ccbb][b:be2fa9ccbb]NOW....[/b:be2fa9ccbb][/i:be2fa9ccbb] but wait till it gets cluttered up like Craigslist. Im sure you have all heard the old saying, "Be careful what you wish for...." because when this site becomes useless like Craigslist has become, you will all be squealing like little school girls. 1600 ads is nothing, wait till the site has 16,000 ads or 160,000 ads. Are people still gonna be thrilled with wading through every person that decides to post 22 ads? How about then they start posting 2200 ads? Then 22,000 ads.

Be careful what you wish for folks. It seems like the vast majority of people posting are in favor of loads of posts from a single person, well just look at ebay and craigslist to see how the greedy people have found out how easy it is to post free ads. After a while, its just a mess. Remember, these are the good ole days, its all down hill from here.

I really don't know what you are talking about. Do you expect people only to post ads you're interested in? Both this site and CL have a search feature that gets' you what you are looking for.

Yeah man, it's called a SEARCH.

What's your problem with ebay or craigslist? I scan the farm category on 5-6 nearby craigslists every day and it amounts to a few hundred ads. Takes me 20 minutes. On ebay I do a quick search of the Ag & Forestry category within a 250 mile radius. Rarely do I get more than 2 pages of new items. Takes me another 20 minutes.

Anyway we're a LONG way from 16,000 or 160,000 ads on this site. If it gets to that point I'm sure the site administrators will do something to streamline it, but of course you'll whine and complain about "change for the sake of change" when it happens.

Im well awair that you can search both craigslist and ebay (duh, who doesnt). In fact, its almost impossible to use either site [b:2b773c1810][i:2b773c1810]without[/i:2b773c1810][/b:2b773c1810] doing a search. And thats what Im talking about, be careful what you wish for because it took years and years for ebay to get packed with garbage to the point it became difficult to use, if not impossable. Thanks to ever increasing numbers of people using the internet as well as scammers, craigslist got fouled in just a few short years. I remember years back using ebay like most people read the ads here, just scroll down and click on anything that trips your trigger. Same thing with craigslist just a couple years ago, just scroll down and look for anything interesting. Heck, there used to be a couple days of ads in my local farm & garden section before I had to click a new page. Now? Its a solid 2 pages with 3 or more on weekends, just chuck full of spam ads, dealers posting as private party, out of area posts and my favorite, idiots posting the same crap over and over for over priced garbage simply for the fact that.... ready for it..... because the ads are free so why not?

Hey, dont get me wrong, ebay, craigslist and even ytclassifieds are great systems. The problem is, when they are new they are naturally limited and as such, have tremendous value for the buyer as well as the seller. Once they start getting huge, the balance of usefullness starts switching. The sellers start realizing they can do some "marketing" to draw more sellers and anybody that has taken econ 101 knows that it then means more profit for the sellers. Keep tipping the scale off balance like that and the sellers start competing heavily for the buyers, thats plane old human instinct and greed, no mystery there. If you encourage the unscrupulous sellers, it aint long and they make a mess fo the joint. Thats not my opinion, thats documented fact and history proves it. Anybody that cant see it or dont believe it hasnt been around to see the good old days at ebay or craigslist. Whats sad is yt classifieds is blindly following the same footsteps, thats why I said be careful what you wish for.... Its comming and yt staff is activly encouraging it. Today is the good old days, we are living them right now. It only gets worse from here on out, 22 ads are going to be the tip of the iceberg.

I cant [i:2b773c1810] wait[/i:2b773c1810] to hear you hayseeds squealing like little girls when some scrapper with an out of work wife or teenaged kid starts listing every flipping part he thinks he has. Even better when he wont talk to anybody but makes the wife/kid do the business. Hey, I got a wonderful idea, maybe I should invite the infamous Marty to start posting his wares here. Then, ya know, just to keep everybody on their toes, maybe his friends can list the same things for him. Man, it just cracks me up at how some of you guys have no clue whats comming..... be careful what you wish for....

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

I think there are some folks in this world that just have to find something, everything!, to complain about. IF scrolling down a page past ads you aren't interested in is the worst thing that happens to you Rich, you ahve a glorious life! Be happy! :D

What I'd like to know is, who are you to deny a person the right to grow their business and be successful?

I've been on ebay since day 1.

In those "good old days" the people who owned ebay were operating at a loss, working long hours, doing all the things that supposedly make you successful in this country. Their idea took off, and now the people who came up with it are multimillionaires. They employ thousands of people, and provide a platform for thousands more to make their own livings. They're living the American dream and making the American dream possible for thousands of people around the world.

Back in the "good old days" there wasn't crap on ebay. I hardly ever found anything interesting, and after a while I quit looking. It wasn't until AFTER ebay "popped" and got huge that I started seeing interesting stuff on there.

Still trying to understand your beef with craigslist. Most of the locals have a dozen ads on an average weekday. On a busy day the three big ones (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse) in the area have 150 ads each, about a page and a half.

Hey if you want an "uncorrupted" buying and selling system, go over to elderlyiron DOT com. Last I checked they had ONE active auction.

Back in the days when my wife was the editor of a small-town local newspaper, she fielded a phone call from a perturbed lady, wondering "why does the paper run the obituaries of all these people that I don"t know?"

Also, in the classifieds, mispellings can make it much harder to find items: when one is looking for "Ferguson" parts, and the advertiser has spelled it "Fergason" or "Fergeson", for example. (Now, I just search for "Ferg", and hope that the advertiser got that much correct.)

and then theyre are people who havent figured out that there keyboard has a shift key and punctuation and when they dont it makes it really hard to read posts and follow what their talking about i think

(I also threw in a few misuses of there/their/they"re for good measure.)

Whats funny is you somehow twisted my very first responce into me.... wait, let me quote you exactally.... "finding something, everything to compain about". Well thats so far off the mark its not even funny, in fact its a down right stupid responce. Im mearly warning people to watch out what they wish for becauce they might get it. I even went into great depth in explaining it and showing how this site is following to a "T" other poorly done sites. If you like how things are now and you like where they are going, thats wonderful but not everybody does. I mearly pointed out the failures that are upcomming and stated a warning, if that makes you so upset, Im truly sorry.

As for my life, yes you hit the nail on the head. I have a wonderful life, glorious as you say but I also consider it blessed. I appreciate your well wishes and I wish you the same!!!!

Please point out where I ever said that?

And your point is? Am I suspose to provide a rebuttal chuck full of other companies that did the same and continued to be a sucess or do you only want companies that headed for failure before stabilizing and are now existing at a compromise level?

(quoted from post at 10:24:46 03/15/13)

I disagree, I thought ebay had some pretty unique stuff in the early days (and they still do now, Im not saying they dont). In fact, I believe if ebay didnt have such diversity in the early years they wouldnt be where they are today. Remember, they are far, far from the only auction site, they are just enjoying the sucess of the best advertising in the world, word of mouth. For years, when people would talk in a group about being new to the internet (meaning they just got internet connection at home) others in the group would always start talking about how they had to go to that ebay site and then a story would come out on how ebay is the greates in the world. Stories would go for hours sometimes or at least ebay would be the backbone of the conversation talking about peoples hobbies or collections.

If ebay wouldnt have been so unique, exciting and cheap, it would have been like the hundreds of other sites like it that failed and we would be saying "E-what? E-Bay? Never heard of it". Meg did a great job of saving the company but dont think for a moment that it wasnt a compromise and that she didnt want to do more but thats the thing with compromise, you have to meet in the middle. I could type more but there are already books out on the subject, including one from her so why spend the time?

Why would you want to understand what my beef is with craigslist? You are exagerating my stance and distorting it, are you trying to understand my true thoughts or "my beef"? Isnt that like trying to solve a math problem with faulty data?

Thanks for the invite but Im fine doing things the way I am. Cute exaggeration though but its a poor arguement that I didnt make.
