Tim Hortons

I drive from Illinois to Cochrane, ontario to 160 acres I own up there quite often. Once I cross the border it"s no more Casey"s or Golden Arches it"s Tim Horton"s coffee. It is like the wife"s mini van won"t pass one without stopping, and there seems to be one in every town up there it takes forever to get to Cochrane but it"s addictive" Timbits and a Large coffee. And the place is always packed,Wish we could get one to open in Illinois.

you could put a tim hortons anywhere their is 5 less than 20 min from me and they are always packed. gerald

I believe Tim Hortons is a Canadian company so it makes sense the country is packed with them. We have some here in the Rochester NY area. Company that roasts and grinds their coffee is just over the rail road tracks from where I work.

Lots of Tim Hortons in Michigan. Many of them share a building with a Wendy's or Coldstone Creamery. Same great coffee.

Tim's and Wendy's go hand in hand...they merged around 1995...sometimes you will see both real closeby over here in the states. The Canadians take Tim Hortons alot more seriously than we take Dunkin Donuts.........and the way I see it, Tim's has a far superior product. Coffee...donuts...sandwiches..are all far better at Tim's. If you have one in your area, give it a try and see what I am talking about.

Tim Horton played NHL hockey. Saw his wrecked DeTomaso Pantera right after he hit an overpass in 1974. He did not survive Coffee is still a favourite in my taste.

i guess we are the exception. we stopped at a tim horton's one time on our way to rochester. the portion of whatever we ordered was way overpriced and skimpy. and not that tasty. we haven't stopped again, even though they are sprouting up everywhere.

Wendy's bought Tim Hortons for big bucks because it is a Canadian institution with over a billion in sales. Tim Hortons widow got into drinking and squandering her money and years back sold her portion to the business partner for $1,000,000. After she lost most of that money, she was trying to sue to get more money out of the former partner claiming she was swindled. She was offered $1,000,000 and accepted it. End of story. They said she should have hired a financial adviser when she sold out. She didn't get anymore money.

There was just something on TV about Tim Hortons never making much of an impact in the US because it is such a Canadian brand. A few years ago Krispy Kreme (sp) was apparently going to come to Canada and over take Tim Hortons as the donut king. Never happened and never will. Tim started the roll up the rim contest that I think Dunkin' donuts copied it in the US. Tim Hortons is so popular that there was a national news story because too many people were littering and throwing Tim Hortons cups all over the place.

I'm on my way to Timmies right now for a coffee and an apple fritter. I'm quite well known at my local Timmies. I'm there at least twice a day.

There's a Tim Hortons everywhere you go. I have 12 Tim Hortons within a 1/2 hour drive of here, and I live in the middle of nowhere. City of 22,000 has 5 of them. They have the best donuts, and according to others, the best coffee(I don't drink coffee). They started in 1964. 22 years ago they opened their 500th store, there are now over 3,600 stores across Canada and the US.

(quoted from post at 16:24:11 03/09/13) Tim's and Wendy's go hand in hand...they merged around 1995...sometimes you will see both real close by over here in the states.

Used to be but not any more. Wendy's completed the sale of TimHo's stock in 2006. In 2009, Tim Hortons Inc. announced it had completed the reorganization of its corporate structure to become a Canadian public company. The parent company of Cold Stone Creamery, Kahala, announced in February 2009 that it had reached an agreement with TimHo's to open up to 100 co-branded stores in the United States after successfully testing two locations in Rhode Island. Cold Stone has also moved into Canada with co-branded stores.

When we got to town to get feed and such we always make a stop there. Even the dog gets a Tim Bit.

How"s that old joke go about the restaurant: "The food there is terrible - and the portions are so small!"

To each his own, I reckon...
