I still have my case with a CB mounted on it in case my retirement takes a dump and I have to go trucking again. I would not travel without it. I didn't talk allot on it but sure was handy and saved me many a times on the road. I would not truck without one.
I have one on my motorcycle I have used it on the trips I take and has saved me more than once to avoid traffic problems if nothing else. I also have one in my pickup that I can turn on if needed. If you think nobody still uses them just come on a major traffic problem in heavy traffic and you will find out otherwise.

Driving south on I-77 years ago on that long downgrade (7 miles at 3% if I recall correctly) coming out of Virginia into North Carolina, I was pulling a camper trailer behind an F-150. CB came to life with reports of a big crash at the bottom of the hill. Now ordinarily, I would have just coasted down the hill with the speed of traffic, maybe even do a little Georgia overdrive. But having heard that warning, I backed way off. Sure enough, I came around a bend in the road and saw a sea of brake lights. Had I been free wheeling, it would have been very tough to stop. As it was, me and the line of cars stuck behind me had an easy time getting stopped.

That was enough to convince me the value of a CB radio.
