Massey Harris 33

On my MH 33 the rear PTO is up high and I cannot figure out how to use any 3pt implements as the PTO shaft would have to go through the center 3pt connection. Is there a work around for this or am I just out of luck using the PTO with the 3pt hitch?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

My Father spent years working his Uncle's Farm, one of the tractors was an early MH 44. I know that one of the issues (other than traction) was the heighth of the PTO, said the U joint on the shafts used to chatter like crazy and had to be replaced quite often...they didn't have a 3pt hitch on theirs so I don't have an answer for you...I can see where that would be a challenge though. Was one of the BIG improvements of the 333 and 444; lower PTO

the factory toplink had a open section (shaped like the letter "O")that the shaft went through. Bill

You mean that Irish shyster who had to be bailed out at least twice because he couldn't build and sell a tractor.First by Ford and then MH,who had to get rid of him to keep them from going belly up.

Yes you are maybe right, here in the UK I help to run the Newark tractor show each November. I do a diffrent feature every year and this coming year Iam doing Massey Harris and Ferguson to commerate the merger in 1953. MJ.

Bill, Thank you for your post. You have solved a mystery that had more than one implement company confused. I actually thought of having something built that would raise the top link connection higher than the PTO. Do know of any companies that might sell the part aftermarket or where I could look for an original one?
Thanks again,
Fiore

Pete,
Thanks for your reply. You can see in the post that Bill had the answer. Quite a good idea. Maybe I will not be forced to sell it now that I know the solution. Now I just have to find one or make one.
Thanks again,
Fiore
