The original subject was "Stainless Steel Welding Electrodes 116".

I realize this was some time ago, but I just now came across this. Eastwood.com/stitch-welder works great with other thin steel sheetmetal. Maybe, it won"t work with stainless, but with other steels it does great, just have to "tune" it in. If Lagrange makes a 1/16" "Gold" or "70" rod, I think it would. Cheaper stock pots are pretty thin, so maybe not...

I asked my AirGas rep if he could get me some 1/16" stainless electrodes for the stick welder. He got back to me the next day and said "They don't make them."

(quoted from post at 17:02:48 03/07/13) I asked my AirGas rep if he could get me some 1/16" stainless electrodes for the stick welder. He got back to me the next day and said "They don't make them."

I found the 1/16 stainless rods locally (1 hour away). Every welding shop I called had them. Too bad our project stock pot was too thin, so we went with an alternative plan.
