Very cool truck. What engine is in it,I see it's a Ford? Ive see a Continental with battery coil and also magneto ignition. If one fails you still get to the fire.
They are like tractors Made to not annoy the user.No planned obsolesence.

Aw Dang! and here I'am heading down that way in the am. My wife would shoot Me! Why did you have to go and say it might be fer sale. lol.

Larry, you definitely got my attention. I want one too - as a Volunteer Firefighter for over 40 years, that got me "turned on". That would look great all restored and re-equipped.

Reminds me of when I bid on a retired fire truck many years ago- Early 50's GMC, with 20 feet of rails behind the cab- would have been my hay truck. I bid $138, and a neighbor beat me out. He drove it home, and it sat in the same spot in the field for 20 years until he lost the farm in foreclosure, and it got scrapped. Oh, did I mention it had 28,000 miles, with paint so shiny you could comb your hair in it?

Grrrrrr. . .

Round noonest, going to a place called Oakwood Village, 2 miles south of I-80 on rt.206. nice thing is that I only have to go 10 miles south of home to Micky Ds. eat, then get on I-80 east bound

Larry, my Dad had A 1941 ford PU, the grill was just like that one. It was red too. I was A teenager just learning to drive. 3 in the floor.
We got it used,not new.

My guess is 1940 / 1941

Really neat! Is he going to paint her or keep her like she is?

We recently saw a fire truck for sale. I thought it was neat - but my husband said, "Who would buy it though? Only good for parades." Now I can tell him... Larry@Stines' nephew would.

You can pruchase older fire trk for a song.
We bought 1972 Ford C700 ( Cab Over ) Not
really the body style we wanted. But for a
1000.00 & with all grood rubber & 8800 Miles
& the odometer ran when the trk was pumping.
Scrapped out & sold what we didn't need &
we had a almost FREE trk. has 361XHD that has
been trouble free.

Probably a '40; the '41 had Ford emblems on the louvers on each side of the hood.
The '40 V-8s had big ol' V-8 emblems on the sides of the hood just to the front of those louvers.
I used to drive my neighbor's '41 2 ton a lot between the ages of 14 and 18. That's when I learned how to "double clutch". Used it for hauling hay in the summer and sap about this time of year.
It had "farm" plates and I drove it all over the countryside long before I had a driver's license.
He didn't pay much but I sure did like to drive his truck.
Wound up marrying his granddaughter later and still got her almost 52 years later.
