3020 injector pump rebuild cost

Just had the pump and injectors all rebuilt on my 67 jd 3020. Billed at 938 dollars. Does this sound reasonable? I have no shop, so I sent it to a local mechanic for him to tear down and he sent the pump and injectors off to a so far unknown 3rd party. I was quoted less than 1k as an estimate, bill was 1500...
 
For the pump and injectors,yes,sounds reasonable. It's been a while since I've had a pump done,last one was off a 4040,pump alone was over $800.
 
Should have sent it into these guys. They do good work and are pretty reasonable. They got my Bosch going when nobody else would touch it.

Hi If that's a Roosa Master pump you did ok.
I had one of those and injectors done 8 years ago for an Allis and it was $1200 i think from memory and the cheapest quote.
other guys wanted 15-$1700. There are some real expensive parts like the cam ring and stuff in there if they needed changing.
Most guys don't have the stuff in a regular repair shop to do them properly. They go to the fuel pump specialists,with all the pressure and calibration rigs/ and injector testers.

Brother had his rebuilt last year it was $700. Good friend retired has shop in back yard thought it was kinda high usually about 1/2 that.

Thanks guys, it does run a lot better now. Virtually no smoke when i drove it home, have to be careful when i use the foot throttle now, it sets me back in the seat compared to before.
