Muck Boot Alternative?

I have been wearing the tall knee high Muck boots for years now and love the comfort, lightness, warmth. However, I think the quality of these boots has decreased as I now notice they start leeking sooner and are not as warm as they used to be. Are there any other products beeing produced that are as practical as the Muck boots?

You might try Bog boots. I have some neighbors that really like them, but I have never worn a pair. The next time I replace my Muck boots, I am going to try them.

I like the muck boots in theory but how do you guys keep your socks up when wearing those boots? I can put them on walk down to the barn 100 yards and have to pull my socks up from my toes. Socks are still stretchy and cling to my feet.

I used to wear the tingley overboots but don't need them often enough so they dry rot before I get good use out of them.

I usually wear a pair of regular socks and put the big wool ones on over those - don't know if that makes much of a difference, but I never have the falling sock problem. the wool socks I use are also really long - come almost up as high as the boot. They always stay up for me like they're a part of the boot.

I find it's very comfortable. Not just temperature wise - but the socks provide a good amount of cushion.

I do know what you mean though - smaller loose socks will do it - and it's a real pain.

Of course - it's also getting very hard to find those big thick wool socks.

The next door neighbor works for a business that services fire trucks. He gave me a new pair of steel toed fireman boots with the yellow reflective stuff around the sole and the whole works. Didn't take long til one of them cracked on top just like the last several pair I'd gotten elsewhere. So I was at Family Farm and Home and they had the same identical boots, yellow reflective strip and all. Bought them. The other day when things started to thaw, the top of my foot started getting wet. Cracked on top right in the same place as every other pair.

in cold(-numbers) i wear Mickey Mouse (military arctic packs) if above I wear LeCross rubber Full gusseted lace up boots with 14" up the calf wool socks and Poly Prop liners. Jim

Only way I can keep'em up is pull them up over my long underwear. Warm weather,no long underwear,my socks are down around my toes in no time.
Need to grow a little more hair on my legs maybe?

I hear you on the sock deal. I wore them style boots when I was younger but switched to 5 buckle overshoes as I got older. My wife still wears them but she just sticks her bare feet in 99% of the time. Gotta be below zero before she wears socks in her boots.

I wear Bogs. Used to wear Aigles, expensive but wear like iron. Also liked Wellies but they don't fit my wide foot as well.

I wear Carhartt 'copper ion" socks. Pricey, but get WAY better mileage out of them so it probably works out.

Very warm, wicks the moisture away from your feet, stays up. A lot less problem with dry skin and callouses on my feet too.

I think part of the problem with socks creeping down is wearing boots that are too big.

I'm on my second pair of Muck boots, (first lasted 6 years that I remember, maybe more) and haven't noticed any difference in the new pair. Toasty warm, light, comfortable

Where your fire boots are cracked, seal them with "Goop". I've been a Volunteer Firefighter for over 40 years and that's all I have ever used on my boots when they crack or get holes in them. As for the falling sock problem, I use rubber bands to hold my socks up, it works & they're cheap.

I lost one of my mickey mouse boots off the back of a tractor as I was returning it to Dad's House. I went back and looked for it, but it was gone. What would someone want with one boot? I know, they were hoping to get the other one also
