My 2010 silverado with 60000 miles was rough running and would only go 40mph.Several of you told me the throttle position sensor was bad. That turned out to be the problem, but now the dealer says he doesn't think it's under warranty. The warranty is 5 years or 100000 miles. He said that's on the drive train and not the electrical.Someone mentioned getting one fixed through warranty. Was there a service bulletin on this?Don't have any idea what it cost?

I had thought it was 100000 miles, or 5 years. I just found a link that GM downgraded it in the year 2010.

Not sure.

Well, it seems that sensors are not covered under the 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty. Details are at http://www.chevrolet.com/owners/warranty.html, which says: "Excluded from the powertrain coverage are sensors,..."

Furthermore, the same page lists the emissions control warranty, which is "2 years/24,000 miles", then covered by the 3 year/36,000 bumper to bumper warranty.

HOWEVER, according to the EPA's web site: "Specified major emission control components are covered for the first 8 years or 80,000 miles of vehicle use." Although the TPS isn't called out, the "Fuel metering system" is broadly covered. Check it out at the site below.

The service bulletin that Sean mentions says the Throttle position sensor warranty on my truck and several other vehicles has been extended to 10 years or 120000 miles.
