The one room schoolhouse for my township is a mile south of here. It is the township community building now - the water board meets there and all voting takes place there. Still has the outhouse and it is all in great shape. They boarded over the windows to save energy. I hated to see that happen. Kansas' first hotel is a mile farther south. Lincoln stayed there on his campaign trip. Rumor was that it had been on the underground railroad as well.
