Oh, this one is awesome! Yep, you saved the best for last. Now if only it was parked out in "the wild"... a meadow or under a big ol' tree.
How much fun would it be to drive around in that?! Sunday drives in a rust bucket. That would get some looks.
I have never seen a storage place like this with things stored out in the open. Around here everything is inside.

Yes. there is some artistic beauty in stuff that is returning to the earth. However it is hard for me to understand why someone lets stuff go to rot when they will never use it and could make some cash selling it, maybe they enjoy seeing it everyday? There was a farm down the road, old couple quit farming, no kids, just let everything sit, barns fell down with all the equiptment in them, scrappers finally stole most of the stuff.

Larry I have enjoyed these photos. I know I have said this before, but it is amazing how much old stuff still exists, especially sitting outside like that. But, I have found that if it is in the open where the sun can hit it, it doesn't deteriorate nearly as fast as parking it in the woods. (Don't ask me how I know.) I guess it is just as well that this is the last one, 'cause it was breaking my heart!

There's a family in town like that. Older, retired, all their old equipment is out in the elements.
I had stopped by one day to see if they might consider selling one of their older rakes to our 4H club so the kids could restore it and put it back into use.
Answer was pretty much "no, and get the hell of my porch", but said less politely.
Obviously it's their's to do what they want,it's just too bad that somebody wants to just watch it all rust into the earth.
Not a lot of the old stuff left around here anywmore. Used to be you couldn't drive down a road without seeing 20 different old implements in some level of disrepair stuck in the woods and brushlines - But scrappers are making it all vanish almost over night.
So their stuff all just sits out there rotting away, and soon enough scrappers are going to steal that too - and THAT's the part that really kills me.
ah well.
Guess it'll just make the ones we save that much more rare and special.

Sore topic with me too, not that I want it for myself but I know in many cases there is someone that might put it back to use or restore it, rather than have it rot out in a field or fence row. Some folks are too pig headed to realize that when they pass someone will get it, the scrapper or other, and they will get nothing out of it. Maybe the family will get scrap value or get beaten out of it by crooks.
