How in the world do you add word captions to your pictures - Tried it down on the Test Section, but I couldn't get it to work.

Please respond as if you were telling an 80 year and not a 15 year old, computer veteran.

Thanks from the kruser
PS: Didn't want to have to ask the Dottir at this time!

It's easy, you do it just like this:

PPS: I can post pictures
a104272.jpg

Wudda you mean that was of no help to you???

My method:
1) Use modern view

2) Hit new topic and fill in subject line

3) I typed in a few lines to appear at top of post

4) Scroll down and use advanced posting tool to upload photo #1

5) Scroll back up to message box and if picture upload was successful, you will see a line of "jibberish" that is your picture. This "jibberish" needs to be on a line by itself. You may have to move it.

6) Then start a new line and type the text you want to appear under that picture.

7) Go back to step #4 and repeat 4,5,and 6 for multiple pictures.

8) When finished hit preview. If the post looks good hit submit.

On multiple picture tries, start with only two. This will save you headaches and lost effort. After you can do two, the "sky is the limit".

All of the photos that I post are uploaded from my computer to my [b:654c4848f0][i:654c4848f0]Photobucket[/i:654c4848f0][/b:654c4848f0] account.

[b:654c4848f0][i:654c4848f0]Photobucket[/i:654c4848f0][/b:654c4848f0] was chosen because photos could be accessed from either home, work, or any computer with an internet connection.

Start with the [b:654c4848f0]Edit Your Message[/b:654c4848f0] window in any YT forum.

Click where you want to insert your photo in the [b:654c4848f0]Message:[/b:654c4848f0] box.

<a href="http://s200.beta.photobucket.com/user/jameslloydhowell/media/Photobucket%20Examples/EditYourMessage.png.html" target="_blank">
EditYourMessage.png" width="650" border="0" alt=" photo EditYourMessage.png"
</a>

Open another browser window, open your [b:654c4848f0][i:654c4848f0]Photobucket[/i:654c4848f0][/b:654c4848f0] account, and locate the photo you want to insert.

Click the <a href="http://s200.beta.photobucket.com/user/jameslloydhowell/media/Photobucket%20Examples/ImageLinksButton.jpg.html" target="_blank">

ImageLinks.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo ImageLinks.jpg"
</a>

Move your mouse pointer over the light grey [b:654c4848f0]HTML code[/b:654c4848f0] address box.

<a href="http://s200.beta.photobucket.com/user/jameslloydhowell/media/Photobucket%20Examples/HTMLCode3.jpg.html" target="_blank">
HTMLCode3.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo HTMLCode3.jpg"
</a>

Click to copy the photo address.

The address box will turn yellow and the word [b:654c4848f0]Copied[/b:654c4848f0] will briefly appear and then disappear.

Switch back to the [b:654c4848f0]Edit Your Message[/b:654c4848f0] window in the YT forum.

Right click anywhere inside the [b:654c4848f0]Message:[/b:654c4848f0] box and select [b:654c4848f0][u:654c4848f0]P[/u:654c4848f0]aste[/b:654c4848f0].

</a> button to go back to the [b:654c4848f0]Message:[/b:654c4848f0] box to add your text.

Repeat these steps until you are finished with your post/reply.

</a> button when you are finished.

All of the "images" above were inserted using these steps.

Hope this helps.

Thanks James - Will PRINT and try again.

Didn't see any captions tho - Assume Nancy and her Mom are still there!

Been using Classic too long - Might have to try Modern and get more confused?

Thanks from PeoRia, IL

Nancy and her mother, Susan, came in last Wednesday afternoon and stayed until Sunday afternoon.

Nancy will be back on Friday night.

Hey Kruser. At least when that tire fell off your daughter's A it didn't also have a broken axel and a mounted corn picker mounted on it! And then there was the time my friend broke the axel on his trailor mounted John Deere mounted John Deere #6 corn sheller with 50 +ft. of M&M drags hanging on the back end on the county road! Won't even mention the 4 (yes 4) broken steering kingpins on the Ford F750 with the lime box mounted on it. Talk to you later. Armand Ps Posting pictures gives me fits also!

kruser: They are making this way harder than it is. So here goes some simpler instructions.

1) You DO NOT!!! have to use photo bucket or any other program to post pictures or captions. Photo bucket actually will mess with some computers and make them work slow. Mine is one of them.

2) You have to do the post on modern view. You can not put the caption with the picture on Classic view.

3) Do your post just like you alway do. Than add your first picture. Then preview the entire post. Then go back to your post. There will be an added line in your post. This line is the computer description of where your picture is stored on the YT web site. It will look like this (
15191.jpg
) If you write in front of this line the caption will appear above the picture. If you write your caption after this description line it will appear below your picture. You need to make sure and use paragraph breaks/spaces between your caption and your picture' address or the caption will read at the side of the picture rather than below or on top.

Think of it this way. The wording of the post is directions to the computer posting your post. You are just telling it the order you want things in. It is just that simple.

No. you do not have to use modern view. Ihave always used classic, and this is in classic.
Simply write your message in the comments box. Then scroll down and click on "upload photo". Then "browse to finy your photo in the pictures folders. Then open and upload and continue, and "preview your reply."

Is this what you mean by adding word captions to your pictures?
