More photos of my new place

Decided to go ahead and post more photos of my new property I bought last week. Just couldn't pass this up. I'm already in the process of remodeling it: sand, stain and finish the oak block flooring in the living room, hallway and two bedroom; repaint all rooms; sand and re-paint cabinets; replace some doors, and replace some fixtures. It's a very sound little house, and in pretty good condition. It has two fireplaces---one real, one fake. Both have gas logs.

When I'm done this will be my daughter's home. I'll be glad to get her out of the neighborhood she's in now. Despite the theft of the AC, this house is in a very, very safe and desirable location.

About four of the five acres are covered with huge pine trees that may worth a buck or two in the near future. That's also a bad thing: a couple dozen of these big trees are close around the house. They've gotta go. Another thing that's gotta go is that awful pink outside trim.

To make this tractor related, the storage building out back has a shed where I can park my JD 1020.

Nice looking place! 5 acres is a nice size parcel too.
Hopefully your daughter will appreciate all the effort!
I'm not so sure I'd worry about the pink trim, but you could always
use a tractor to haul the paint, air compressor and sprayer. ;)

Loren, it might surprise you how much grass is hiding under those leaves and pine needles. I'll mow this place with my JD zero turn, along with the six acres at my place down the hill. I'm like a lot of guys on this board: I have two tractors, the 1020 and an 8N, but I don't really need them. Have no plans to get rid of them, however.

Looks good but watch Lyle and Rusted they will have you living on a treeless lot if you let them get started skidding.

Nice place but you're right about getting rid of the Pines near the house you can't trust them they'll go over without warning,as far as the rest not many loggers will set up with only 5 acres to cut.You might look for someone that has a small band mill in the area they would be your best bet as they can bring the mill to your place and saw right there.

Those are dogwoods. They are tough to navigate around even when sober. They're coming down right after the spring bloom, maybe even before.

Jerry S.,

Very nice! Remember to post "after pictures". Your daughter is blessed to have a dad like you.
