I belong to a number of forums, most of which I don't open for days and weeks. The reason is there is nothing there. I enjoy YT because every day the screen is full of post that I didn't read yesterday. It seems to me that posts are what a forum is about. There is only so much you can say about old tractors. I have noticed that most people are pretty good about identifying the post subject in the proper place. If you are not interested, don't open it. I don't think anyone complaining, puts money in maintaining the data base, so why so vicious about it. To me the forum not just about tractors but about things that interest tractor people and that is good. I have learned a lot more about things that I needed to know here that werent tractor related than were. I have been actually working on tractors for over 60 years. There are things I need to know about new tractors but not old ones. Another thing, I don't read long post so it's past the point to stop.

I feel your exactly right,I hate long post, and over size pictures.I bleed RED and love pre 39 and steel wheels.Ive got to the point after ten or more years I just scan most post on the IH forum, not that I know alot but most old tractors are so simple most can work on them.I have learned who posts what, and most of the answers that go with it.
I enjoy this sight the most becaues of the open disscussions,I really enjoy the pictures.Im guilty of one thing I would like to see changed and thats your location along with your name. This is the best weather station of all time if people would know where your located

I agree on the location. I use original view. But I will check modern view to try to find someone's location. Anyone can go to modern view and learn everything about me they need to know.

I agree with liking to come here to talk about things other than tractors. The fact that we all like old tractors bonds us together as if we were neighbours. In my opinion this forum is the modern day general store where we can talk with friends we trust about anything. Why would I ask some clown from a big city about my problems? We won't understand each other anyway. Even if some of you live in a city now you are still farmers at heart. Yes, we should avoid too much politics, but why can't we discuss our health issues? If we die our hobby goes with us, so it's part of keeping our hobby alive. I trust another farmer or tractor enthusiast about my health much more than some heath nut who would stay on a site about medical issues. For example, prostate trouble will kill all men sooner or later if something else doesn't kill them first, so I've been told.

A strong double thumbs up Pat!!!! Why do people even put OT in front of their posts? The subject comes up on my puter. I don't need an OT to tell me if the subject is about tractors or not. In addition my computer lets me go back if I look at it and decide it doesn't interest me. Do some computers make you read every word in a thread before you can go back? I just can't understand why some people have such a problem with topics. If your 'puter won't let you decide what to read, don't keep bothering everybody here! Just go get a new 'puter.

I agree with everything you guys have said, why put OT in the subject line and keep it short. BUT do put PICs in the subject line so I don't miss any.

This is my favorite web site. Really needed the prostate info from a few days ago.Loved the pictures of shops last week. Just a great place full of good guys!!!
