I guess they are classified as tractors in some circles. Anyway, I had these on file so thought I would post them....they are not mine.

That green KB series International pickup looks just like the one we had when I was a kid. We had a 49 KB1. It was hotter than haities in the summer and colder than ice in the winter with that tiny little box heater inder the dash. But it always started. When I was sixteen, being a red-blooded american boy, I decided to find out what top end was. Got it up to 60 but the engine was screaming and the front end was so loose I about lost it on the gravel road. After that it was back to the normal 40 MPH top cruising speed. Wish I had it today. Dad traded it for a brand new 69 GMC 3/4 ton with a V6. We were in heaven. Wish I had both of those pickups today. Jim

Really beautiful tractors!

Oh my gosh... there is a whole section in a junkyard we've been to that is devoted to big trucks. Now I am going to have to explore it - in the far reaches, there may be some neat old stuff.

That green IH pickup is like what I learned to drive in when just a kid feeding cows baled hay.

That old Ford is just beautiful. I love those old oval grill units. I like this almost more than tractor pics. Thank you!

Some good looking old trucks, (and road tractors). Thanks for posting. I had an uncle who purchased a new Mack road tractor in 1949, was going to contract haul for the company he had been driving for. Thought he could make more money that way. That only lasted about a year,he sold the tractor and went back to driving for the company. If I remember correctly he said he paid $10,000 for the Mack. Does that sound about right to anybody?

We had a feller that put on a truck show here in SE Iowa for a few years. They brought in some really nice old road tractors like those pictured. Just beautiful. Those chromed up old girls make the new ones look kinda bland. JMHO

Dad had a 48 KB 1 IHC that my brother and I hauled a flatbed full of hay home with. Going too fast when we came to the corner for home. Slammed on the brakes and slid the KB 1 sideways. When we were in line with the corner I floored it. We kept the pickup out of the ditch, but the load of hay tipped off! Pulled the pin and threw as far as I could. Told Dad the pin jumped out and trailer went in the ditch. Had to reload the hay, but better than telling him we were going too fast!!

We have a truck museum at the Brooks tractor show place.
They about 100 old trucks going way back and a lot of 60 and
50 truck tractors.
They also have a Detroit 8V71 like the one in my 10 yard
dump.
I also have 56 IHC L190 it would make a great antique tractor
hauler.
It's for sale if anyone I'd interested.

PS sorry for my kitty cat post but it just hit me out of the blue.

Have a old college friend I see maybe once in 5
years. His dad has a old IH that is fixed up
nice. A huge gas tank so I am not too sure how
far they take it away from home any more.

Don't remember what that rig has but did anyone
notice all the heavy duty's have 10 bolt Budds? I
would do the exact same but the original police
would knock off points, LOL.

Love the pics.
