my model A is over heating, but im pretty sure the
radiator has flow. there isnt a pump so i cant
figure out why it would be running 210.

Make sure the system is full, otherwise it won't thermosiphon..thus..no flow...make sure the louvers are open, and of course make sure the fins are clean so they will flow air. Really it is a pretty simple system and not subject to problems usually.

John Deere, IH, Allis? what kind of model A? Maybe it doesn't have the right anti freeze mix and not circulating.

Yes you need to let us know what make "A" tractor you have so some of us can better help you.

I've seen on Farmall A tractors the sleeves were surrounded by debris buildup over 40+ years and it would run hot due to this that and not having a water pump.

Problay blocked where the sleeve enters the blosk at the bottom those hole are small where the coolant returns to the radiator. Mite drain and fill with vinegar to see if the vinegar will loosen up the residue. Next would be remove radiatoe and lower housing so you can use compressed air and wate to clean those holes.

Pretty normal for a John Deere A with the thermo=syphon system to run that hot. No worries here.

I don't run my M in the winter, but in the summer it is always at +-210 no matter what the temp is. I don't know why they put the temp sensor at the hottest point. I do know it never over heats and the bottom hose you can wrap your hand around and keep it there.

Touch the bottom hose lightly to see if it's hot.
You may not be getting circulation through your radiator. Tubes could be plugged. Hal

wow guys thanks for the comments. that was extremely helpful. to clear things up, it is a john deere model A, the model with no water pump. I think it might be low on fluid. thanks again. you guys are awesome. and more important, you guys are really smart!
