I'm looking for a 4010/4020 gas engine

I'm looking for a 4010/4020 or 7700 combine gas motor doesn't need to be running. I need oil pan to valve cover and that's it no intake or exhaust.. This is going in a pulling tractor and I'm stripping all that parts if anyone is I retested in trading, or straight up cash deal.. Please send an email or I can email you my number..

Call Bryant Combine of Bryant, Indiana. They use to have hundreds of old combines but I heard most got scrapped. Might still have engines around. 800-255-1071

I put a 105 combine engine in my 4020 about 15 years ago. Excellent running 2500 hr engine for $800. It has served me well since adding a powerful electronic ignition and getting rid of that rerdiculous oversize stock carb and replaced it with a smaller one from a 283 Minni Mo. No more smoke,Hard starting, fouled plugs or spitting, uses less fuel and much better low to mid rpm performance.
They also crank much better if you replace the way undersize 10MT starter with a twice as powerful 20MT.

Those engines are harder to find now, too old for most salvage yards and ones parked in the tree row for 10 years are mostly rusted up.

I have 1 out of a 7700 Combine,Its Rebuilt & never put back in to the combine, do to other problems found while the engine was out.I am Near The Walkins Glen Race Track= out side of Ithaca,NY

One from a MM 283 engine in a model "U" tractor.
It needs a little die grinder work to fit the wider spaced mounting studs of the JD manifold and modify the throttle arm to match the JD linkage. The choke cable and air cleaner tube fits right up and fuel line adapts easily.
Makes a whole new tractor out of them once you get rid of that stinking big vacuum accelerator pump carb.

Jon, I have to sympathetically chuckle about the carb. On my 105 I finally plugged the vacuum hole that works the accelerator pump. Fuel economy was MUCH better and it idled fine. Downfall to doing this was I had to open the throttle very slowly. I'll remember your suggestion about the Minnie Mo carb. The combine is gone now but I still have the engine. Jim

I suspect JD used that overly big carb to maximize full rmp power, but it sure messed up the part throttle performance. Being most 4010-4020 gas tractors now never see much if any full power work, the smaller carb makes them a much nicer performing tractor.
I have not put mine on a dinamometer with the slaller carb, but I know it handles a 13X61 grain auger just fine in damp wheat. That is about a 100 hp load, so If it lost any power, it is not much.

You right,I knew it was Attica and why Utica I don't really know.Been there 100 times and can do blindfolded so ????Thank you for catching it.
