Any cat lovers?

This is the reason we don't have any mouse or rat issues. They get fed one time a day to keep them around. Only 1 female in the lot, and yes she's the mom of all the others. Her name is "Mouser" for a reason, and she's taught all her boys to hunt and not be lazy and they do a good job. So do you have any pictures of your mousers?

I don't have a wide enough angle lens to get all of the darned things around here in to one picture.

When Running's Fleet and Farm has their 40 lb bags of cat feed on sale about every other week, and you start to recognize the same people buying them, you know who the other cat people around the neighborhood are.....

Cat lover no but then again I have to many. As I type this I have 2 on my lap and one sitting on the monitor and one sitting behind me. I have who knows how many out side as in barn cats so almost never see a mouse and if I do it is in the chicken pen

I have a female cat that is my snuggle buddy.
In fact my wife calls the cat my girlfriend. Very funny.
My cat is an Osi cat breed.
My cat is very intelligent, every night I go to bed and the cat follows me jumps on the bed and lays right next to me....Until I fall asleep, then she jumps off the bed and goes back out the living room to be with my wife until she goes to bed.

Well we do not have any mice that last long in the house. The outside cats do what they can but with the feed around for the cattle they have a big job to try to do.

Here is a picture of the house cats at work. LMAO

Gabbie; mice, moles, lizards. lies in wait at the bird feeder daily but to no avail. and yes, saw her stalk a wild goose one morning.

Here is a pic, from last night. I guess both the wifey's dog and my kalico got plum tuckered out from stalking each other. My big yellow tiger is camera shy. He only comes upstairs at night when the dog retires with the wife. He then spends the night on the end of my bed. Both cats were born out under our garden barn along with 4 other siblings. We caught 3 of them, and saddly one of the trio, the other male yellow and white tiger suddenly died from unknown causes last winter.

I got about six of them that show up every morning when I go out to the barn to feed and check the cattle. I give them a couple of cups of cat food at that time. I have a board into the livestock tank they can get a drink when they want. They have plenty of hay or straw around to make a bed. Sometimes they lay against the livestock tank when I have the heater running in it. I don't make friends with them and they don't buddy up to me either. Although they will run around me in circles in the morning if I don't feed them right away. I haven't seen a mouse or a rat in years. The birds will not enter into the buildings and poop on everything anymore either. I guess we just have a good understanding and help each other out for our own gain. I don't call myself a cat lover but I like what they do for me.

my wife enjoy the calicos. this is the first cat we have had in 30 years but since we built our home in the country we felt we needed one. our previous calico was named pepsi, like a shook up pepsi cola. our current cat, gabbie came from a litter that had a tortoiseshell cat similar to yours.

The grey one is the mouser, and the others are free loader indide cats. The orange, and shaggy are gone to happy hunting grounds. The black, and white cat is the newest addition. Stan

I have three right now; one of the babies in the basket (with the red collar) got taken by a fox or coyote years ago. He's the one on the ladder. The adventurous sort, he was my favorite and followed me around like a dog. His brother is now one my of oldest at about 15 yrs. The calico is probably the prettiest cat I've ever had but has absolutely no personality. The cat on the computer desk is my "Maine Coon" cat!

Monster and Half Pint. Monster (the black one) earned his name. He was a cat terrorist and a bully in his youth, but he's mellowed out since then. In this pic, Half Pint was asleep in the basket. Monster just jumped up and muscled his way in.

Last summer we had close to fifty of them in the barn. It was kind of hard to count them all when we fed them but that's a pretty close estimate. There's maybe forty now but lately they've been well, um, getting frisky. The other day one of the granddaughters came in and told Marilyn those cats are kind of wierd. 'There's one sitting on top of another one on the lawn chair'. Jim

Love your woodstove, if I were there I would by laying beside it asleep too! I lite the platform and the backwall around it also. Did you do the work yourself?

I love cats (and dogs, too). Most animals really. Maybe one of these days I will learn how to post pictures. We have three adult females and an adult male. I wish they got along with each other but I guess since they were all dropped off they are just feeling insecure. There is one outdoors cat that I am glad does not need to come in during the winter. The house is kind of small for four cats who need their space.

That old stove has a lot of wood go through it. That is my main source of heat. I did the brick my self. Took for ever.I kind of messed up though. As I was laying the brick I poured cement between the wall and the bricks. There is no air space. The wall gets super hot, that is why I have a piece of stainless steel sheet behind the stove to keep the wall cool. I was told the heat will travel through the bricks and cement and possibly casue a fire. Not sure about that, but can't be too careful. Maybe someone knows? stan

One thing nice about a stone, or brick area like u have is it absorbes the heat, than as stove dies out, if it does die out, u can feel the warmth still in the masonry, I don't know if u understand what I'm trying to explain. For example, when I let my kitchen stove go out, all the bluestone from the floor to the celing and about 6 or more feet wide is still warm hours after the stove has been out.

The house crew, Allie, Bob Barker, and Jr. We lost Jr. last year....

The barn bunch...Sister and Mister and their brother "Lil Stripey" whom the coyotes got a couple of years ago. Their mother "JD" was a feral cat that hung around for awhile...coyotes may have gotten her also.

Yes I'm a cat lover too, just to lazy to post any pics tonight, but all the ones everybody posted are some great pics of there cats! The cat going up the ladder made me laugh. Thanks for posting!

That's funny, your story about the tractor. I asked my wife today what she thought was smarter a cat or a dog? She said a dog. Well I don't agree! Lol

I acquired a male and a female cat that look just like the one on the tractor tire, last summer. Both have wonderful personalities. Neighbor brought them home from the pound and they didn't like his accomodations so they came over here. That is so funny as I am typing this Missy the female just came and jumped in my lap and looked at the picture.

I have jack russell terriers. No mice, rats, opossum, raccoons, groundhogs, fox or cats. The terriers keep everything at bay!

A good friend operated a "show" dairy heard/farm for the rich owners and had about 15 cats in the large barn. In the late 70's he had a real good yeild and I helped him build a 4" retaining wall in one side of the hayloft to store about 4000 bushels. Called and asked if I'd mind stopping by and helping to load it out.
My friend Marv, the trucker, Bob and I were standing there BSing and I noticed that the barn cats thought the stored corn was their liter box. The trucker, Bob looked at me and said, "I sure hope they don't make my cornflakes outa that stuff!"

My cat is sitting next to my feet right now. Hes more affectionate then some dogs. this picture though is of one of dads outdoor cats who just goes by the name of Buddy, who also gets invited in for part time shop cat duty. Buddy was on mouse inspection duty of the new engine that day:

Don't you think it's about time to SPAY & NEUTER a few dozen before your overrun with cats? Your feed bill must be horrendous.

From bottom to top: Sweetness, Alberta, Peanut, Pearl, and Fluffy.

That's Nancy they are keeping warm.

I have heard of a Three Dog Night but never a Four Cat Night. You shouldn't make her work so hard.

No picture handy, but we have a stray that showed up about the same time we built our new house. Great mouser, so kept it around. My daughter named it Buttercup, but after it got older we had to change it's name to ButterNUT. It turned out to be a tom.

Who else has a cat with oposable thumbs, This old girl showed up at the barn one day and setteled right in. Then had 3 kittens Two of them also have a thumb on each from paw. I have seen these cats use their thumbs just like we do to hang on to , or pick up things. Just make real good mousers/barn cats.Bruce P.S. I like cats but they all are Psychopaths.

We had a cat kinda like that years ago, they said he had 7 toes? Then we had a cat named belmont, or one eyed jack, he got hit by a car and lost an eye!

Here is one of our 2 cats. It was playing hide and seek on my wife's tiger blanket. It is now a shop cat and likes to keep the heater warm.

I never was much of a dog person but I grew up with cats and love them.

You can drive them crazy with a laser pointer.

We have three indoor and one outdoor, barn cat. Wife named her Hunter, because that's what she does. No more issues with rats and mice! We also feed her since the stock of vermin isn't enough to keep her fed.
