Still in the news in Minnesota, and probably most of the west of the Mississippi.

This was on local news last week, trees dying, wells going dry, no subsoil moisture. The well drillers are just 30 miles from me, we are in wet ground saturated, wells just do not dry up 'here', that is unsettling news! We are typically too wet, we welcome a dry spell most years....

There was a lot of time spent on the US Farm Report this morning, about the Drought. They sugested that if you even get "normal" rain it will take 2 years to recondition the soil to previous levels of tilth and fertility. They also showed examples of some alarming soil erosion from the wind occuring in some places.

Mine have finally filled in the last 3 weeks, but the subsoil moisture is still almost nil.

We have tile lines running water, but the weather prognasticators say we are still in a drought. (Must be global warming). The tiles will ONLY start running AFTER the ground is conpletely saturated. But what do I know, I was just a dumb drainage contractor for 30 years.
