Saw this old thatched cottage in Devon, England last weekend...in fact I saw loads of old thatched houses, but as we had so much to do and so little time, I could not get my friend to slow down enough to get pics....Many ended up like the 3rd one!!!!! The last pic will give you an idea of the amount of rain we have been getting lately.

Nice pictures, thanks. This area was settled only 160 years ago. The only things we have that are 500 years old are rocks.

It never occured to me before that traffic circles turn clockwise in countries that drive on the left side of the road.

When our daughter was in Germany as an exchange student, she saw a single family house that had been continuously occupied for over 800 years.

ss55, good point, I hadn't thought of that either. A small town near me recently decided to do away with three different intersections and install roundabouts. Problem was, few people around here even knew what a "roundabout" is! There is still mass confusion at those intersections and you have to be very careful when you enter one.

Sam, in the first picture, the blue sign indicates a roundabout, or traffic circle as we call them, immediately below it looks like another sign. What does it mean?

That sign means end of restriction....That restriction could be a speed limit or even a no-parking zone, but usually a speed limit.
