I know you guys come with all kinds of experience, so here is the problem: try to help a friend diagnose his new to him 520v Skat Trac. Everything works hydraulically except the left side drive for the track. If you jack it up it turns with no noise such as grinding but has no power and appears to do nothing when sitting on the ground. Any help would be appreciated. |

| No power under load, but works fine with no load is usually a symptom of a bypassing motor. Easy to check. Pull the case drain( it will be the smallest of the hoses)have your friend hit the tram pedal and see how much oil comes out. A steady drip to a VERY weak stream(its hard to explain) is acceptable. If it pours your motor is bad(bypassing). If the motor doesn't have a case drain, you will have to check for heat. Tram enough to get the system warm. Compare your suspect motor to the good one. If its hot or quite a bit warmer your bypassing. If neither of these get you any where you may want to check pressures(may have compensator, or relief problems for that circuit) and flow. Remember just because you have pressure doesnt mean you have enough flow. If you dont have any gauges the simplest thing would be to swap motors from side to side. If the problem moves its the motor, if it doesnt your obviously looking at something upstream. Hope this helps. |

| I know just enough about that type of system to get me in trouble LOL. Could be as simple as a bad chain in the drive system or a bad hyd motor or even a simple bad hose to or from the motor. I have the fun of fixing a friends articulating Skat track loader so I know enough to get in trouble but fun to play with from time to time. Years ago I built a post driver that hooks up to his. Did a 3 point post driver hyd type and made a mount so it could be hooked up to it and boy does it work well |
