It was about 6am one day last week when it was about zero. I was chipping ice out the brook so the cows could drink.

That reminds me of driving around late (10pm) and seeing who was still milking or working in the cow barn. Usually an old single farmer with no kids or hired help. I always thought it was a sad and lonely sight, but then I realized that they were doing what they liked and knew best, whatever the hour.
