I got one small one checked off my list on Friday- a spare spindle for our 285. Last winter Dad got a used one out of the junk yard because the threads were stripped on the one on the tractor. I ended up building up the shaft on that one and turning it down before installing it.
We were gonna scrap the old one, but then I got a bug to see if I could fix it, or atleast how difficult it would be. I repaired the threads a number of months ago, but the shaft was worn on this one as well. I finally got around to repairing that on Friday.
Next Friday I'm gonna work on the spare spindle for our 1855. That one is a bit more involved- the shaft is bent a little where it went inside the forging, and the bore that the shaft goes in is elongated. Gonna weld up the bore and mill it out, hopefully for a light press fit with the shaft (gotta build that up and turn it down too) and then weld it back together.
After that, I think I'm gonna fix the seat frame for my 1600, and after that possibly tackle taking the radiator out of the 1855 that's leaking and possibly looking at the turbo-I think it's dumping oil into the exhaust.
