please elaborate on Ford's bad engine designs, I have had Ford pickups engines from a 352 to a 5.4 and they have always treated me good, my 95 F150 with a 5.0 was geared too high and was kind of a dog that took plenty of gas but it had 270,000 on it when I sold it

I do not hate Fords. In fact, A Ford was my vehicle of choice for many years, including a 1963 F100, a 1970 Torino Cobra, a 1980 Ford Fiesta, a 1976 F100 Explorer, and a 1971 F100 which was purchased brand new by my father.

I might still be driving Fords if it weren't for the fact that FoMoCo had the audacity to place some very unrealistic demands on ALL of our local dealers. Demands which were totally financially unresponsible, so ALL of those dealers just closed up and walked away. To put it all in a nutshell, it was Ford that turned their back on me, not the other way around.

Well lets see Ford bad engine designs:

1) The early 5.4 blowing the spark plugs out of the heads. Many need to have the complete cylinder heads replaced because of this issue.

2) The 4.0 V-6 timing chain guides that wear out at about 75 K and drop metal shaving into your oil pan/pump. Many start to knock at 80-90K.

3) The Infamous 6.0 diesel. Ford admits it spent over one billion dollars in warranty issues on this boat anchor of a motor.

4) The 6.4 diesel With EGR cooler problems, head gaskets, timing gear covers eat away with coolant. Plus many other coolant related issues.

All of those plus I'd go back farther and add the 351M to that list.
