Heatmaster Wood Boilers

Just talked to a dealer and he's getting me prices. Looking at the G200 gasifier or mf5000. Gasser is about $1k more he thought. Looked at Portage and Main but no SS, more money, and more welds. No dealer close by. Might look at Central gasifier. Don't like Central's Classic boiler. Havent checked out Heatmor lately. Heatmaster has a lifetime warranty if you send in a water sample yearly. What do you think?

We used to have ann HS Tarm gasifier till last summer, it was 19 years old and began to leak. We now have an AHS Wood Gun gasifier that I really like. It is less fussy about what type of wood can be burned and it has a bigger chamber so more wood can be loaded at a time. I can even burn pine slabs and dust from the wood shop dust collector in this boiler. The firebox and some other areas are stainless steel. I would check them out, I can't recall the website but I know the company name is Alternate Heating.

Tarm, AHS, and Harman are the big three in indoor/ basement wood boilers. Some feel a bit messy and can be insurance issues, but certainly more efficient if the house is set up for it. Canada also has a couple manufaturers, can't think of their good one now....

My old house had a gravity curculating boiler, an old Crane cast unit, dad put it in 2nd hand when I was a kid, it looked old then already. Darn thing cracked a while ago, guess you only get 60-70 years out of stuff any more.....

More I look, the less I like the new pump, electronic controls, depends on electricity new type of boilers, kinda looking at the old fashioned cast from Europe style, 'Attack 42' is one name you can search for. Sure looks just like what I have.

However, I think Chris is looking at the outdoor boilers, so my research ain't worth much. Didn't look into them.

Sure like my Central boiler. Takes a mountain of wood though.

Have an AquaTherm wood Boiler. Started out great about ten years ago. Supposed to have a fifteen year warranty. Started leaking a couple of years back and had to send it in for repair. Warranty says that they would pay shipping one way. YEAAH RIGHT. Aqua Therm said the water quality was the cause, not workmanship. Said if it was workmanship problem it would have showed up in just a few weeks. Sounds more like a 90 day catch me if you can warranty than a 15 year. Good Stove!!!! Just that the SERVICE SUCKS!!!
