4455 and a Kinze planter

Can I pull a Kinze 16 row wide/31 row narrow individual box planter and no till on the contour in North Central Missouri with a woke up 4455 mechanical front wheel drive tractor? I"m really hoping so, as my other two options are a 4620 with weights that probably won"t pull as much as the 4455, plus the 4455 is power shift and the 4620 is sychro range. The other option would be an old school 7520. We"ve got the clutches for the rows and we don"t want to have to rewire a tractor repeatedly. We typically pull an 8 row wide/15 row narrow mounted planter equipped with big boxes with the 4455 and have absolutely no problem. I wish we could try pulling it with the 4455 to see how it pulls, but I don"t think we will get a chance to "practice" planting with it.

It should have no problem pulling it, we had a guy here pull a 18 row 22in JD 1780 planter with liquid fert with a 4055 2wd. A 4455 should have no problem pulling 16/31. We also have a guy pull a 12/23 JD 1790 with a 7630 MFD and in my opinion a 4455 is 2 times a tractor over a 7630.

Seems like most of the guys around here are using alot bigger tractor than I plan to use.

Yeah I spose, I guess im saying I wouldnt be afraid to pull that planter with a fully weighted 4455 MFWD. I have a friend who pulls a 12/23 Kinze with liquid fert with a 5088 IH 2wd on contours and he no-tills and it handles it good.

Hey sideconsole4020guy did I see you using your tractor and loader with a big bale of hay on the back? Isnt that abuse to your 4020? LOL

sideconsole4020guy I think you had some pictures of 2 or 3 4020s posted on here a while back, they looked good, doing what they were made to do.

Thanks for the answers - they are what I was hoping for. We are going to go ahead and put the Ag Leader in the 4455. We thought it ought to pull it, but we were unsure as everyone else in the area seems to pull with a bigger tractor.

I would be more concerned with whether or not you have the weight to keep from sliding down a sidehill, and to pull uphill. I pull a 16 row 1770 with a 4840, carry 360 gallons of fertilizer in saddle tanks, 4 rear wheel eights, 14 front weights, and if the ground is loose at all I can't pull up much of a hill and will just slide down a side hill.
