Do most of us have this problem? I bought a 1953 AR in 2010, restored it with my father, enjoyed the time together. Thats were things got bad, caught the bug. 2011 got divorced after buying my '38 D, that one cost more than just the price of the tractor, but worth every penny! Yet it never stopped there, 2011 I also picked up a '36 A, '40B & '49B. Spring of 2012 I got a '46A '47AN,'30D 2 70 lawn mowers 60 mower,100 mower 50 cart & two 30 carts aswell as a '64 110. So far this year we picked up a 530 & next weekend I'm going to get my 3rd 70 mower. I'm enjoying the heck out of the toys, but I wonder how many have this same problem? & how many is to many? I live on less than an acre of land, last year 4 of the restored tractors summered at my house with the mowers in front, it gets a lot of looks.

I have a very understanding girlfriend that's been with me since we picked up the 36A, I have nephews that got turned on to this aswell. The 15 year old has a '36 F12, the 17 year old has a 70 gas & 36 F12, the 20 year old has a 37A & a 60, Dad got me interested when I was about 10 when we brought home a 41B, didn't look like much, but cleaned up well. I gave him my 46A as a thank you for all the help he has given me. He also has a '56 40 & 41H. Parade days are busy for us, family hobbies are great!

I have the same problem, luckily she likes the tractors as well... This year we have bought 10 or so but I have only kept 4.... 2 G's a 420 crawler and a 1945 B..I have always said id like to by two a year and re-do them for the rest of my life... This is my plan... Once you have the bug its hard to get rid of....

I hear ya there, I've gone as far as tree ornaments, & 1/16 scale diecasts. But for all the bad habbits I could have, this one can only return money down the road. Never smoked or done drugs, barely drink, I like this choice.

I'll keep my wife any day. The old saying goes
'never love something that doesn't love you back'.
Nuff said! Jim

I think my only addiction, is the YT forum! I feel itchy, if a day goes by without checking it out. I will come in from a partialy finished project, to ask a question. get involved with reading posts, and 3 hours will go by, and have to put off the project till next day. Lately the slow loading of the posts causes the time to go by more than it used to.

I can relate. 40 Farmall B,42 FARMALL M, 45 JD A,36 Hart Parr Oliver 70,45 Farmall A with a 153,39 AC WC,36 F20, 54 CAT D 4 DOZER. And about 10 others bought and sold to support THE HABIT!.Funny thing is this is my second go around with tractors.

"If you know how many tractors you have, you don't have enough."
The man who told me that displays his collection of a hundred or so
Allis Chalmers (not counting equipment) as a free museum.
Someone else told him that, as he tells me.
So, I don't think you're alone here!
I don't see it as a problem.
Time and money are the problems!

I can help, put the full size tractors on the bottom, then the lawm tractors, then the implements then on the very top place the toys and tree ornaments. Think vertical, you own from the ground up.

Someone once said, and it could have been before I got on this forum in '01, that you can't have a meaningful relationship with more than five tractors. I have seven, but two are modern so they don't count. Then I have one antique that is a worker so I spend many hours with her each summer. Another one had her restoration nearly finished last year and she and I have been to three shows together. Then two are pullers, so I spend a lot of time with each of them during the season. I also have a pretty intimate period with each of them every other year or so to do some upgrading. The seventh has had her motor rebuilt, and she runs and drives but is still waiting for me to get back to her. I know that the getting is more fun than the having, but I get a lot out of getting something here and there for each of them, to make them each a little more healthy or prettier.
