Got us a genuine January thaw going on here in Southern Maine. This past week warmed up and while ground was still frozen it defrosted if let covered. Fondation contractor was able to pour the footing for my soon to be garage. I have been without a indoor place to work since Feb of '08 when we bought this house. 26 deep, 36 wide, 10' 6" ceilng. 2 9 by 8 garage doors, one swing out barn style 10 by 10 shop bay door. Had to cheap out and use T1-11 for siding and go with local brand doors and windows. Total budget is 40k and that is with me having dug the foundation trench and will help backfill. Also doing electrical by myself. |

| Same weather here for the last week or so. Hated it the first few days but starting to like it now. Currently 16C(61F)according to the thermometer. Very easy to work in. Only have snow in the drifty areas and the piles. |

| A week ago we had almost 2 ft. of snow on ground, got up this morning and it is all gone except the snow piles. It is supposed to get cold today again. Sure was nice this week with the warm temps. Back to reality this week in WI. |

| Tenn : Broke a 100 year record here yesterday. High got to 73 deg for Jan pretty warm. However they are saying winter will be here Sunday night , what a ride. Benn real warm and March flowers are breaking the ground but I am sure we will have some more winter yet. |

| | That weather won't last; better get your outside work done before the bad weather moves into the area. It moved into AZ last night and will move on east in a few days. The snowbirds will be grumbling about the AZ weather now; this isn't what they are used to at all when they come down here to spend the winter. |
