(quoted from post at 08:25:57 01/07/13) This issue always makes me wonder about people and their expectations. We all want good, reliable, cheap power. Well, we can't burn oil because of CO2 and cost and gas is dangerous and we can't drill to get it and the pipes mess up the view and coal, dear Lord, NOT COAL, no, no a thousands times no! we can't ever burn coal and hydro is terrible because it dams a river and some people lose their homes and other gain lake front and make a killing, and we can't use big solar arrays, especially in areas with lots of sun because the shade cools the ground and creates a micro climate and the rare earth minerals needed are mined and that pollutes the erf, and you can't use wind at all on land because you can see those mills and they kill birds and people can hear them and you can't put them off shore because it ruins the views from the resorts and you can't use tidal gens because of environmental impact and geo thermal is out because of the drilling and release of caustic gases and GOOD LORD! you can't possibly have a nuke plant at all, ever, never, not is a million years we'll all die and biomass is out because trees are Mother Natures lungs and evil loggers will clear cut the jungle and the Iowa rainforest and release more CO2. So, having produced the longest run on sentence in this sites history, just how in the world are we supposed to produce that good, cheap, reliable power?
