couple weeks ago brad b posted on tool talk about unloading pallets with his scaffolding and chainfall. well....the safety police sure gave him a what for. but they offered no solution...soooo....guess who came to the rescue!!! had this old yale automatic forkift at the farm, and donated it to brads cause (should keep him from gettin hollered at, least for a while.) he and his son drove down from upstate new york to pick it up at the shop. we had a secret meeting over coffee...discussed series-parrallel batteries (john t. the fork lift was the culprit, not a golf cart), and swapped stories. had a great visit with brad and his son!!! heres the pics.

forklift and charger waiting to go...(pay no attention to the car batteries wired up on the lift truck)

winched the truck on the rollback and set it on the trailer outside, then backed in the shop for the tie down.

In the words of the old TV Detective, Eischied, "Ya Done Good" today. And, wish more of us could get together for coffee.

I saw NO forklift safety training class or certs ! Hey ,,got to have something to hollar about , lol
Always great when YT members get to meet .

I was worried after seeing the third picture. It looks like you have the chain held down by the 6x6 and the other chain attached to the fender of the trailer!!

Luckily in the later pictures you bound everything down.

Rick

You need to pay attention to the 3rd picture. The chain is simply laying across the 6x6 waiting to be connected to the boom. It amazes me that on this site someone is always wanting to find fault in the way other people are doing things. also amazes me that they jump in and make comments about the person ought to do this or that and they have plainly stated in their original post that they had done it.

Huntinggreen2day,

Clearly you didn"t see the rest of the posts that were poking fun, such as where"s OSHA?, who has forklift training? etc.

Reading and comprehension, such a under utilized skill today.

Smilin john musta went ufo. Both flatbeds were at the shop plugged in. Bill had the wrecker and was off on some secret adventure. Friday niite smilin john went out at 5:30 pm and was towing till 6 am. He had a busy night.

We made it back home and unloaded with no big problems and not much sleep.

My son and I really appreciated the hospitality and good times with you both!

Will post some unloading shots after sleep!!

All the best,

Brad and son (Brad II).
