447 John Deere Baler

Am looking for any information good or bad on a 447 John Deere Baler? Want to thank everyone who responed to my request for information on a Kubota 5030 the other day. Have since purchased that machine. The 447 baler was hooked to the tractor and looks to be in very good condition. Was told it has had less than 100 rolls put through it per year since new. From the looks of the machine that very well may be true.

The JD 447 is a good simple 4 foot by 4 foot baler. They are twine tie only and have few fancy things on them. That makes them a very good baler for the smaller hay farmer.

Your Kubota M5030 should handle it fine unless you are on real steep ground. You did not say what they wanted for the baler. If it looks real good then they will usually bring in the $7500-10,000 range. There is a pretty good demand for them as not many where sold new. Lots of smaller hay farmers are looking for a simple baler.

Thanks for the information. I was hoping you would see the post. I just saw the post on your friend. He will be in my prayers.

I'll add to what JD Seller stated that unlike the larger JD rd balers with adjustable hyd tension the hyd tension pressure comes set from the factory on the 447. Also IIRC the 447 isn't available with a bale monitor.
