I'll be spending the night near New Orleans. The
partying has already started here. Never had
fireworks for new years before. Not many people want
to stand outside in -30 deg. to watch it in Mn. lol

Yes, but there are still people walking around in flip flops down here. Guess there are advantages to 2 feet of snow after all. lol

staying in to night but doing the polar plunge tomorrow at noon should be nice out some place around 5 to 10 above

Had pizza bites and cream cheese wantons then played a game with my wife and daughters, 4 and 2. Tucked them both in, read a story and said prayers with my youngest while wife did so with the oldest. Then watched a few machinery pete videos on youtube while my wife watches a movie on tv. Head to bed soon, and going to my niece's 1st birthday party tomorrow. (Uncle is making the ice cream!) Good night to stay inside in MN. Predicting -15 temperature with -25 to -35 windchill. Piled the boiler full of wood about 5:00, and home in the house is a good, warm, place to be tonight!

Sleeping at some point. Wife is ready to go to bed now. 10:10 here and I most likely won't make midnight......"

Went to the local VFW. My wife had prime rib and I had chicken cordon bleu.

Now watching football on TV. May or may not make it to midnight.

Sitting here in front of the computer answering you and watching McGiver reruns on TV. Might mix a drink later but tequila and Dr. Pepper is not a real good mix

Plowed out the driveways then took a shower. Took myself out to dinner tonight. Now I'm sitting here posting and reading about what you other crusty old farts are doing, ok?

Playing cards and scrabble with the family and a good friend that we invited over. My toddler sons don't have to go to bed until they want to tonight.

Just watched the movie "Premium Rush" with wife and 2 of 3 kids (made my legs ache. If you've seen it you'll know why). Now I am buzzed typing.

Jon, if you're in New Awlins I would suggest you not stand outside there either. Be advised that about half of those fireworks you'll hear at midnight will be 9s, 40s, 45s and 357s, and what goes up must come down. I recall a kid actually getting killed there a few years ago by a slug from a celebratory firearm.

P.S.----Do not go anywhere near Baton Rouge tonight or tomorrow. People there will be shooting themselves. There might be collateral damage.

Staying off the roads. Too many amateurs out there ;)
Spent a nice day with family, not planning on staying up until 12
but since it's only 25 minutes away I might make it.

After watching New Yorks rockin eve or whatever its called for years, I have to ask my burning question: where do they all go? As in nature calls. thats alot of prople in times square and I was always told public cans are very rare in NYC. so thats a lot of p@@ on the street

Watched some tv, then put in a movie. When the movie was over discovered the remote to the tv died.
Oh well, guess we"ll call it a night.

We don"t go out on New Years, too many dui"s on the road.

We did the same thing we always do. Went to bed early, woke up and the new year was here. Decided when I was young that it was going to happen whether I was up or not, so why not get a good night's sleep?

Spent the early part of the evening (@ funeral home) lamenting the loss of an old friend. I guess that goes along with everything else about 2012, the year I'd just as soon forget. By midnight, was @ the fire house, waiting for the inevitable knock out to a drunk driver related traffic accident. That rolled in around 1:15AM. Back @ station around 3AM. Crashed on couch upstairs, then got up and drove home around 6AM. The Mrs spent the evening watching the grand kids. They're still sleeping. Now I have to put on my suit and go be a paul bearer. Hard to be "Mr Sunshine" under the circumstances, but HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone anyway. Mine will get better, hoping yours already is.

At the brother & sister-inlaw"s Pub and Bistro in Milverton. Surf & Turf after a seafood chowder appetizer. Comedian and a band.

Twins conked out about 11:00 PM, two year old still going strong at midnight, didn't want to go to bed when we retired.

Someone set off a few skyrockets over Hutchinson, MN at midnight New Years Morning too. But it was still warm out, barely below zero F. Ahhh to be young again.
