Just got home. It is only -2 here in central Minnesota. I bet my 560 Diesel would not start tonight. It is hard to start in the summer when it is 85 in the shade.
More proof of global warming. Supposed to get to -10 by tomorrow morning. Northern Minnesota -30.
I have to go and put another 10 logs on the fire.

I was working in Alexandria January a few years ago, it hit -34, that was cold. I made the mistake of shutting my truck off and did not get it started until 2:00 the next afternoon.

Exactly, the winter is warm by old standards. In the "good old days" here in MN seems like we would be on our 10th sub zero night or so by now.

Unloaded in Alexandria one cold winter morning. Turned the tractor and 53' trailer around to leave and the plastic trailer lines shattered in a million pieces!! -38!!

Weatherbug says -6 already. Near Marshall, Mn. I am going to turn on the electric blanket, probably won't make 11pm. Watch the ball drop behind closed eyes in bed.

David: other post got poofed, so I'm hitching a ride here because your reply deserves a civil response. Thank you. Actually I'm in essential agreement with you on all your points, though I'm a C. Problems arise because there can be many degrees of difference in how to define each of those things. As always, the devil's in the details. A happy new year to you.
