Well, the weatherman said we would get 5-9". Ended up about 16", +/-. Lots of wind so we have lots of drifts, also and the snow is very dense and heavy. It was s strugle to back the Kubota out of the lower shop. Ended up putting chains on front wheels, and later on the rears also. The drifts and plow banks were well over the rear tires. I had to pull the plow bank infront of the house out into the road, with the bucket so I could even get into the driveway. Last pic is of two of my first cousins, one from Conn. with his 3 kids, and other a longhaul trucker from Tx. They decided to take the kids sledding across from my house, and got the wheeler stuck trying to make a trail up the hill. Got more snow in this storm than we had all last winter.

Looks like fun, Nah not really but about what we deal with here 3 or 4 times a year. Worst thing is we don't usally get rid of the first dropping before we get the 2nd or 3rd or 4th. Starts to accumulate after a while. Is that your wood pile in the first 3 or so pics? Looks like your ready for as much winter and snow as can come your way by the looka that pile. Looks like you got it handled anyways. Good on yah. Rocko.

One place we lived, the best sledding hill for miles around was the hill on the playfield at the gradeschool. So we'd get 3 or 4 inches of snow, they'd cancel school, and by noon, most of the kids (and their parents) were at the school, sledding.

We had a similar snow a couple years ago here- supposed to get 6", got 20. Boy, that's a lot of snow to slog through! I've got a bulldozer with 6 way blade- that took care of the driveway in pretty short order. The norm here is 2-6 inches, and it usually warms up and melts in a couple of days.

It always amazes me Loren how different the weather is over there. We got about 10" of fairly dry snow. Not much wind at all. Was expecting the nasty east wind they called for. There was a little easterly breeze before the snow came. There was one roar last night, but maybe it was the wind switching. When I ventured out in the middle of the night it was a north/westerly breeze, which we are protected from.

We haven't used any heating oil for the last two years, going on 3. Put a free for the taking Royall wood boiler in my garage this summer, and tied it into my radient heating system. I haven't even fired the wood pellet stove this year. The wifey has warm toasty feet so she is very happy. All is good when she is happy, HeHe.

Over here in southern NH we got about 14 inches of very wet stuff it didn't drift a lot. It was tough to get under it to push it off. As heavy as it is I bet it was one of the heaviest storms ever. That is a big rambling place you have there, looks like it must be a commune. How many people live there?

Loren, I'm ashamed of you! Leaving that nice looking case outside!! Even jims work cases or all under cover! Lol, we got around 10 inches here, my brother went out at 1:30am to plow his customers, he said it turned over to a wet snow so it packed down some. I posted a few pics but they wernt to good!,

I ran out of room for the 300. The garage behind it has a 1959 Case 511b, a 1964 Case 930 wheatland sprauled out with engine block setting on stand, a Case 440, with loader and cab setting beside it, a Case 155 solar electric garden tractor project, a 49 Case VA, and another pair of Case 444 garden tractors that I am combining into an articulated tractor, plus a Case 201 combine engine, and all my welders, tourches, and tools. The back barn is full with another Case 440, 430Turbo, 411b, 770 cab tractor, and my Kubota KX41 trackhhoe. The 2150 Kubota that I plow with is parked in my cellar. I can guarantee you that that 1957 300 with 6V system will start tomarrow, when I move the trailer load of wood hooked to it to plow there. I will probably put the chains on it tomarrow also, so I can get back to the woods.

Loren, here in NWIA the weatherman hasn't underestimated for two years. He'll talk an inch and we'll get a tenth. I'm not complaining about a lack of deep snow though.Jim

AdirondackCG,
Now that does not look like any fun at all (except for the kids sledding). Great pics.

Colin,
Got about 1/2 that here in NB, and dry enough that I couldn't make a snowball! Bro got about 8" (+/-) in Hollis, and more the consistancy of yours
Dave

Here right now we will take water in any form we can get it in. Its dry, dry, dry, and dry.

just remember the weather people are paid, and have a job even if they are wrong,,, bet you couldn't be wrong at your job and keep it...lol
