What a mistake!

Wife came home from work early today, so I said I'm gonna
bring in a couple more loads of wood, prolly have over a cord
in the basement now. Well I got the ATV with the little trailer
and brought in a few loads at 3:00, put the plow on the ATV
in case I use it, rather than the tractor for this snow they say
is on it's way. I had on my carhartt jacket, with a hooded
sweat shirt under it I was warm enought. 4:00 I leave to go
down to the farm, 3 miles from my house, wife asked if I
could go to town for milk, seems like we go threw more with
the toddler drinking milk now, I said sure, I get gas in case I
need it for the generator. Town is 6 miles from my house,
before I left I thought I should put on my bibs, but since I was
sweaty I dident bother. The truck was cold so not much heat
in it. I got gas got milk and went back to the farm, the horses
finally came in for the night, it was 23 degrees out and I
started getting pretty cold. I warmed up in the heated office
for a few, that's when I saw olds post about gas prices! Now
I'm home buy the wood stove, but my legs still feel cold, lol I
should have known better and wore my bibs, or at least
brought them with me. I won't make this mistake again.

In the winter I always try to throw a old blanket or coat etc in my car or truck and maybe a set of coveralls just in case. Learned years ago you can never put on to many cloths but you sure can have not enough on. Far better to be to warm then to be to cold. All that said I sure wish I still had or could find a set of Military arctic weather cloths like I had years ago till my 1st wife figured she would let them air out on the line with out me knowing it till they had been there over a month in the summer. Sun bleached and no good after that.

I keep a good thermostat and heater in my car or truck never gets to cold no matter how cold it gets. If it doesn't have a heater it sets in the barn till it warms up.

It's the worst when you are warm and sweaty, then get cold when sitting around.

Would always get that when we had the cattle locked in the barn, do chores, would get worked up in the 40 degree barn and humid, tthen dad wanted me to move snow or something sitting on a open tractor out in the cold. Would get to me every time.

Shoulda went in the house for 15-30 minutes, and get dried off. But, that wasn't dads idea, so didn't do that.....

Jay,
Put on my long johns for the first time this fall. Went out and brought in a little extra wood to stay dry for the boiler in the shop, and put the chains on the front wheels of the Kubota, in prep, for tomarrows storm. The wife and I have no place we have to be for the next few days, so no emergencies here. The wind picked up here about dark(4:30) to 15-26mph, and flurries.,( wind chill at 7 )Let it come. Lots of food, wood, fuel for gen. Might have to make a barley pop run though, LOL

Lol, yep lucky my wife is home for the week too, I only have to go back and forth to the farm! Same here we have plenty of food, and fuel ect, I was watching the news and they were saying how people were out buying windshield scrapers/brushes, snow shovels ect, my wife said what do these people do with the stuff from last winter?? Throw it away, fill up the landfills, than give there money to china to buy them again, was my response! Lol, stay safe,

I have a B2150 gear drive with an LA350A loader and 60" belly mower. I also own a KX41 -III trackhoe. I also sold Kubota, and CaseIH equipment for many years.

You got it! We live too close to the Citidiots, you especially, however you have the opertunity to capitalize on their lack of common sense, and willingness to pay someone else to do simple chores.
