Windows 7 problem

The zoom keeps going to 100% without warning. Not when I'm on line, but when I'm off and get back on. I have to go to View, down to zoom and change it back to 125% to be able to see things without my glasses. It was good, stayed at 125% for the first several months that I had this computer, but won't stay now.

What do I have to do to make it stay at 125%?

Click "start", then click "control panel", then click "appearance & personalization" then click "display" then click "medium, 125%" That should get you back what you had.

OK,just did that. It put the zoom at 156%. Had to go to view and change it back DOWN to 125%. It still left everything on my desktop and toolbar huge. I was OK with those the way they were, just needed to change the text size on here.

rrlund,
Under VIEW there is also choice in the drop-down menu for TEXT SIZE.

Would it help you to set the text size to a larger size?

How "bout this

Press and hold the Ctrl key and then roll the mouse wheel One way should make the text bigger. (and the other way should make the text smaller again)

rrlund,

If Windows 7 is like Windows XP, just hold down the Ctrl key and hit the + or - key to change type size.

This is not a permanent fix but it's a lot easier than what you have to do now.

Got'em,they're laying right here in front of me. I'd rather have the larger text size.

I just fooled with text size and zoom both. I can do some fine tuning by using both, but it's tough to get the tool bar and text both where I want them that way. Maybe I'm just being too fussy.

Internet Explorer normally keeps the settings of the last session closed.
If its not, make sure this check box is not checked.
Its under Internet Options on the advanced tab.

Found it. It's not checked, but that would have explained it. The wife's been using mine for about as long as I've been having trouble. Seems to act up after she's been on facebook and whatever other sites she gets on. Still a mystery if that's not it.

If you are logging in on the same account, and she sets it back to 100%
then exits, it should save her settings.
That may explain it too.

She says she's not changing anything. I just went out to unload some salt blocks, she got on facebook while I was out. When I got back on just now,it was back down to 100%.

I think your wife is messing with you. Kinda like the guy that siphons gas out of your car for a few weeks, then starts adding gas for a few weeks. Makes you think your car is using too much gas, then getting really good mileage.
