John Deere 1947 Model A

Still unable to remove governor shaft. Did everything suggested by 730-LP on 12/4/12.
My weights are on drive gear - not on fan-drive.
I can pull shaft out approx 2.5 inches, then stops.
Tried tapping on slotted Mag drive flange, but nada
Nothing appears to be in the way, and weights are at
12 and 6.
Have sprayed with WD40 and other lubs. Nothing.
Help, please! (Can attach pics if required.)

The forked arm inside needs to completely turn to the side to remove the gov. shaft.

Forked arm is loose and turned all the way to
housing on left side. No obstruction there.
What else?

Tach drive ?

I saw 730 mentioned above. I see I missread it. No tach drive on your A. The fork and or shaft may have to come out.
