I usualy don;t read old post as I should, so I will post again on a old subject. I just want you to understand that I was not insulted at all, and respect your opinions.

Heck, I laugh at myself, and everyone else, as if it wasn't for laughter life would be a bummer. I was raised to respect, laugh, forgive, and a whole lot of other things.

I certianly do have a chip on my shoulder, and it should probably be knocked off by now. April 8th is a bad time in my world, and it was over fourty years ago the event took place. I have never explained it to anyone. Although I'm unaware of it, I get over sensitive about the military. Without doubt, I'm the luckest man on earth, and because of it I feel guilt. I don't expect anyone to understand, and I'm not sure I even do. I have decided to tell the story to my kids after I'm gone with a letter to be read after my death. My kids need to understand why I have never watched a war movie, and turn the channel when a mystery / murder comes on.

Unrelated to my issues, the military had a few fun moments, life and death was not such a big a deal to us kids in uniform, and I was not mean to some less fortunate folks, but I certianly could have done better. It is crazy what young men can come up with for passing the time, and it seemed beer, weapons, and explosives, and the young ladies were pretty popular back then. I wish my three boys could have basic training under their belts. I think alot of good lessons could be learned, as well as responsability. They just may not be as luckey as me.

Ya know, a bunch of us were there 40-45 years ago. You don't hear us making noise about it. What was your unit, where was it, what was your MOS. What was your rank. You're alluding to stuff but saying nothing.

I also think you wrote that you were 75..that'd put you over the hump for draft/enlistment age for that little police action...maybe Korea. Which?

I'm not 75, only 60 RVN 70*71 Big Red one, grunt, then 360 tran line haul fuel, spec 5. And no I don't talk to anyone about my ordeal. Only one army buddy left, and we don't discuss it either.

I would suggest you read the entire topics, I don't want your pitty, or am I any type of hero.
Once you read all the entire topics, you will understand why I posted. If you find this offesive or what ever you seem to want to say, I apologise for not putting OT in front of this. This was intended for Dave 2, I should have e-mailed him -- sorry my mistake.

When you type something to the effect of "you type your insults", I just figured you were insulted. My bad.

Anyway, it's water under the bridge. You can't compare today's military to even 15 years ago. Except that the Navy Guys still have to be dance partners for the Marines on the boat. Every Military Community has a big staff of folks to do everything for soldiers & family members except wipe their a$$, and I believe they are trying to negotiate a contract for that also.

Getting him reinstated is certainly more important than anything else going in the world..........

Then get "down stairs" and vote !

rrlund is correct.

I never saw the post, but it was sent to me and yes, I thought it was funny. It wasn't the context of the post, but that he impersonated someone. Impersonating someone is a huge breach of the rules and really, in my opinion, Kim is pretty lenient.

I did contact Kim on Dave's behalf and got a long reply from Kim as to why he was banned. Apparently, that post was the last straw.

I'm sorry it happened, but this is Kim's site and she made the call.

What is to keep dave from getting another ips address, like hotmail, and changing his name?

What is to prevent dave from reading these posts?

IMO, rules are rules, like them or leave them.

To date, I haven't had my hands slapped by Kim. Has anyone else been sent to Kim's office for being bad?

Isn't it something, we seem to miss people more after they are gone?

Get over it.

Now, I ain't the man who makes the decisions on who can stay and who can go. And I ain't even the man standin' NEXT to the man who decides. In fact, I ain't even the man next to the man, standin' next to the man who decides. Or the woman who wields the skillet, as it may be.

But Dave never really did anything to me that I couldn't overlook or forgive. And I hope he feels the same way towards me.

But as I said, I'm not the person who skilleted Dave...nor would I want to have that responsibility, even for an hour. THEIR house, THEIR rules...or, as one of my old hippie friends used to say years ago, "It's THEIR world, and I'm only walkin' through it..."

How will an antique tractor site survive without pictures of his roof and stories about his junky old Hyundai.

His critical assessments of everyone and everything will be missed? Not really.

He needed something meaningful to do besides type.
