Wow! Bad decision.

First two pics, I pegged him a goner. Third shows more cab space remaining than I'd have thought possible, but still surprised he lived through it.

Doesn't look like they marked it very well. If they did that kind of work in the US the road would have had 30 barricades over a 1/2 mile enough to wake someone asleep at the wheel.

We drive on the left so he is on the wrong side to avoid the sign behind ALSO note the double lines.Really 3 strikes and you're out.

In the first pic I can see two barricades, and there could be twenty in the approaching two miles that you cannot see.

That whole thing looks phony to me. In Autralia they drive on the left side. How did he get in the ditch without running over the sign right behind him. And why are the signs on the wrong side of the road.

No frost to heave the roads and the sand/gravel is good drainage.
Looks like a steering wheel on the starboard side?

Well, that's where the steering wheel should be for driving on the wrong (port) side of the road. Looks like he was on the starboard side when he went in, though. Probably lost it. Although I don't see prominant skid marks behind him. Yeah, they drive big cattle haulers right across the desert. Clouds of dust 1000' high. That's why they drink their beer out of gallon pails. Although, having met some of them, I think they drink their beer out of gallon pails no matter what.

Spent about three weeks down under last year and ONE of the first things that jumped out at me was the advancement of the trucking industry down there. They uses some massive rigs that are almost a train on wheels. I found their roads to be on par or better in places than what we have. They do have some roads that are for trucks only.

Interesting configuration.
6 axles on the rear trailer and zero on the front one.
How do you unhook that front one?
