MM oil pressure

I have a MM Z RE serial #76059. Engine is running but no oil pressure. I have removed the pump, all parts seem to be working, changed the filter, blew out the oil lines and ports, all shafts and gears are working but no pressure. Where else should I look? Anybody.

Thx,

Is there a relief valve on that oil pump? It may be bypassing the oil if that relief valve may be stuck open from sludge. Was this engine recently tanked for cleaning the block?
If it was someone may have left out a pipe plug
in the oil galllery. Hal

One thing you didn't say is that have you checked the oil pressure gauge. I have had engines developed low pressure and all it was is a bad gauge.

friend of mine bought a "restored" one that ran low oil pressure and had a slight rumble in it, after checking eevry thing he could think of he finally tore it down to find the crank oil passages were caked up so badly no oil was reaching the front crank bearing which is a roller bearing if I remember right he cleaned/blew out the crank passages and she carries perfect pressure now, he also replaced the front brg, not sure if this is your problem but some thing to keep in mind cnt

With all that I have done so far I think you are on to something. When I put new oil in and then had to drain it out there was a lot of black stuff came out when I pulled the plug indicating to me that there is a lot of slug in the crankcase.

Thx for your insights.

Bill.

Yes, I did check the gauge. I disconnected the line to the gauge on the side of the engine and still nothing came out. I have blown all the lines out and they are clear. It is also a new gauge.

Thx for the info.

I have pulled the pump and gone through all the valves and everything seems to be working as far as I can tell and nothing is missing. The tractor has been setting for several years but the engine has not been torn down at all. I do have low compression but it still starts and seems to run well. I did find some sludge in the bottom of the crankcase when I drained the new oil out that I had put in. I fear that the oil passages on the crankcase may be blocked with that sludge and I will have to tear the engine down.

Thx for your advice.

I don't know if it is a new thing or not. I brought the tractor down from Michigan to Kentucky from my fathers farm. He had alziemers and was messing with the tractors with a cutting torch so I got them away from him. Dad has since passed away.

When I brought the tractors down they all ran but I did not run them very long and just put them in the shed. It has been several years now and I just noticed that the oil pressure was not there so I don't know if it was that way when I got them or something happened when I started it up. The engine seems to run fine and nothing has seized up yet. I have pulled the valve covers off the side of engine and poured oil all over the valves and rocker arms when I ran it. I have not run it for any length of time but still no oil pressure.

Thx for your advice.
