Opinions on Flexi-coil

Being my soils range from lighter sand, all the way to hard black and some clay. I am thinking of making the investment to one of these to pull behind my 28.5" feild cultivator or for behind a disc. Preferably I would like to get to a fall chisel plow on the heavier wetter soils, with bean stubble, and only a one pass with the cultivator in the spring for the lighter soils that need to have chick litter incorperated, no till on non manure beans to corn light ground. Corn ground I want to be ablke to disk chisel in the fall, and hit it all once with the feild cultivator. Hoping to decrease the use of the disc. This tool looks like it does a heck of a nice job for leveling, breaking clods, and leaving some "texture" to the soil to maybe have less wind erosian than running a regular packer over everything. I could also pull the unit behing a tractor too I guess if not hitched to the tillage implements. A new 30" I could get for $14,500, can seem to find a used one. Any opinions?

My brother pulled one for years. They do do all the things you want very well. You CANNOT use them if it's wet tho, they fill up with mud and then you got BIG problems cleaning them out. If you never work fields in less than perfect conditions or can leave it off if you have wet conditions it will be good. Takes about 100' of wet to plug them. He uses a solid drum packer now, but we have wet a lot here.

We use them here in Canada alot of the time, to firm up the ground for planting, they make 2 different weight of packers P20s and P30s ,we use P30s because they are heavery,do a better job.We see a better job of seed placement
